Me and another co-worker have been busting our ass' just to get a full time spot. Now its been open for a while but my manager has told us that we might not be getting it, not to his choose or anyone elses in the store. Yesterday I over herd my boss talking to another area manager about someone comming to my department. I knew right there that nor me or my co-worker was getting this spot. Instead they are taking a full time computer sales person and basically demoting them to a full time merchandising position. Now of course , and thankfully he really does not want this position. He's been sales since the store opened, probably making about 10 an hour. Im sure he'll keep the same pay but still, why take someone who does an awsome job at selling, and stick them in a non sales department? The guy told me though that even though he has no choose in the matter he allready has another job lined up. Honeslty, who in their right mond would want to go from a clean sweat free job , to a hectic faster pase always moving job?

honestly no it doesn't, although when i merchandised instead of the sales man thing my hours were alot better. i don't know which company you merchandise for, but i know in the grocery stores being a merchandiser is "get the job done" and "you have good days, and bad days"
meaning no matter how many hours you put in you get paid for 8, and at the time i hardly ever worked 8. but i also didn't get paid as much. also as a merchandiser i NEVER had to work on weekends or 2-3 days before and on a major holiday. and if i wanted to and knew where i was going to be the next day, i could get ahead and not have to work the next day.
