View Full Version : Graphic designers- Tablet?
I'm lookin to buy a new Wacom Intuos3 tablet and I was wondering if anyone knows where the cheapest place to buy one is.
I'm looking for a 6X8 but if someone can tell me where to get a really cheap 4X5 I'd settle for that.

When I got my Wacom tablet I got it at Publishing Perfection (http://www.publishingperfection.com/graphics-tablets/10/). I'm not sure if it's the best price or not though, It's been a while since I shopped for one.
I also saw that Micro Center (http://www.microcenter.com/search_results_e.phtml?dropdown_method=manufacture r_title&dropdown_keyword=wacom) sells them as well.

Is that kind of thing good for drafting? I do alot of floorplans by hand and could maybe use something like that.

Thank you Freakshow.
The wacom intuos 3 tablet looks great... I love the additions of the keyboard shortcuts they added along with the scroll and zoom

Absolutely. Where my sister works which is a land surveyors office the engineers use the tablets very often. I've heard of many people using them for architecture, design, a lot of movie production houses use them. Even the medical community uses them as well. I love them for animation and drawing, as well as tracing things that I draw.

reefy... do you use Corel Painter? I just got painter 9. This is my first time using it and i think its awesome. i really enjoy drawing and painting with it. A digital artist should not go without a tablet, painter and photoshop.
and obviously illustrator as well

Yeah, I love Painter. I've used Painter since back when it was owned by Fractal Design. I don't use it as much anymore, though when I want to be creative and paint, or draw or whatever, nothing beats Painter.
