Anyone else check out Weird NJ Magazine? Pretty cool, filled with all sorts of haunted shit; anyway the two guys who started it host "Weird US"; they had the Weird NJ Halloween Party last night at the Stone Pony, and holy shit whoever invented Fishnets stockings, well, thank you.
Anywho: Weird US is on Tonight; History Channel; 10:30pm. Looks good from the Website and Book:

A wallet made from the skin of an executed murderer. A settlement of Europeans that predates the Pilgrims. Backyard nuclear missile silos. A town full of freaks. They may not be found in history books, but they're all part of WEIRD U.S. This world premiere documentary traces bizarre and unusual stories of American history that have fallen through the cracks--and maybe were meant to stay there.
In Morristown, New Jersey, WEIRD U.S. uncovers the legend of a man who was hanged, dissected, skinned...and turned into wallets. In Tennessee, meet the Melungeons, a people who claim their roots date back prior to the Pilgrims. Then, Mark and Mark climb into nuclear missile silos poised outside major U.S. cities. Finally, a take a trip to Florida to visit the strangest retirement community you've ever seen, where the circus side show comes to town 365 days a year.
