how do you start a website

i want to create a website to try and sell things. its really more of a learning process then really trying to make any money. but where do i start, are there sites out there that will help you do this step by step. keep in mind my computer skills are extremely limited and would need a lot of guidance. also how much would it cost, i dont want to spend a ton of money for something im just doing for fun. thanks
