I stopped listening because I couldn't seem to get a decent laugh. I've looked through the show log. Is there anything I should hear that'll give me a good laugh?

Ron: Are they lifeguards or lifepussies?!?!

This reminds me when one of the Spice Girls was on The Daily Show and told John Stewart that he wasn't very funny.

"Well, we all can't be as funny as Benny Hill" he replied.

Last sunday was a particularly silly show (eating contest and a drunk Paul O) - the aftermath of fez drinking on Don and Mike was also good - the "Everyboyd Hates Crazy Jen" game. Last night was a throw back with a producer vs. intern fight that (I thought, at least) was pretty fun.

^Why?

Is it really that hard to follow?

As for what's funny, the show still is. Even though the show changes from time to time, there has been no real appreciable change in the show since "June and late September". R&F are still two of the funniest talents around. You want specifics? Sheesh. I already stick the best segments from each week in the file library. I'm not going to spoon feed you any more than that.

I'm the nerd who likes when they get into all sorts of wierd topics and talk about them. The Intern/Producer thing has been done so many times, I turn it off. Those shows, for me, frankly, stink. Not coz of R+F, prolly coz of simply what it is.

Sometimes you really are arrogant and needlessly confrontational.

It's not "hard to follow". Is it hard to follow what I am saying? The "best" segments of the week just aren't funny to me save for a few. That's why I asked if anyone found anything especially funny.

You're not allowed to be funny In D.C.
You're allowed to be lame, full of shit, argumentative, devious, intellectually pretentious and politically correct. All of which is annoying, none of which is funny. This is why the rest of the country HATES D.C. and keeps electing Republicans who claim (Ha!) they dont like it either. Ever wonder why all the Washington based shows (NPR, TV Sunday Talk Shows, etc) get NO RATINGS? Because D.C. is the LAMEST town in America!!!

They're funny guys. Sure, some shows are better than others, but that goes for any medium.

Although it rarely happens to Ron & Fez, it is the same kind of strange feeling you get when you hear people call up Stern and say "The show isn't funny anymore" or "You were so much funnier" with this or that... It just doesn't make sense.

There is something to laugh at in every show.

It just how the question was phrased. It would come across as obnoxious to any casual fan. If you stopped listening becuase you couldn't get a decent laugh, then how would we know what would give you a good laugh?

Just go to the file library and pick a random file. There are laughs in there.

You couldn't have proved my point any better Mikeyboy. Instead of countering the things I said or mocking me with something funny, you said I'm not allowed to say it. My point exactly. And thats what I cant stand about D.C. The show was so much funnier when it was on in N.Y. Where people arent so thin skinned, and can take a punch or two. I still love Ron and Fez, it's not their fault, but they have to play to their audience.

Hey Bullfrog, If you think DC is lame try moving to Baltimore or at least dream of moving somewhere until your house arrest ends. As for humiliation, those photos of you modeling butt plugs on Anal Antics.com speak volumes. BTW, you've got a great ass and yer head's all the way up it. Why so bitter, Bullfrog? Were you beaten as a child? I've got a good mind to join a club and beat you over the head w/ it. How much would you charge to haunt a house? Since when is NPR considered a bastion of comedy? I'd horsewhip you if I had a horse. You've got the brain of a four-year-old boy, and I'll bet he was glad to get rid of it. You're just wasting your breath, and that's no great loss either. You're heading for a breakdown. Why don't you pull yourself to pieces? Would you mind going out and crossing the boulevard when the lights are against you? How much would you want to stand at the wrong end of a shooting gallery? You know I could rent you out as a decoy for duck hunters? Do you suppose I could buy back my introduction to you? If NY is sooo great, don't talk to anyone from anywhere else, ever. With a little study you'll go a long ways, and I wish you'd start now. The next time I see you, remind me not to talk to you, will you?

I still consider myself to be a fan of the show. Hell the amount of space that's being taken up by ron and fez shows on my computer automatically gets me into the club. I've never laughed harder and consistently at anything else, it's just that for a long while I stopped laughing and was wasting my time getting shows that weren't making me laugh so i stopped listening.

These type of threads started about a year and a half ago with no success so it's safe to say you will get none of the answers or explanations you seek regarding the show or the denial of the few people left of it's dismal, current state.

What the fuck are you talking about? Why should I have to counter anything you say? Your post fell outside of the board guidelines (and it's primarily a NY board, so don't chalk that up to being thin-skinned), so I told you to knock it off. Even though I may not be personally offended by knocks on DC, insults and posts intended to start fights are not permitted.

I'm not afraid to answer these questions:

Were you beaten as a child?

Of course. Daddy even used to put a lighter on my PP when I would hang turds over the toilet bowl.

How much would you charge to haunt a house?
How many rooms? @ $100 per room.

Since when is NPR considered a bastion of comedy?
Ever since Rush Lindbaugh became America's voice of reason.

Why don't you pull yourself to pieces?
My Mom pulled at me with a hanger when I was a f‘tus. I lost the tip of my penis and some Taint pieces.

Would you mind going out and crossing the boulevard when the lights are against you?
Yes, why YES I WOULD!

How much would you want to stand at the wrong end of a shooting gallery?
I don't use heroin and dont like needles, but as long as there's hot hookers there shooting up, I'll do it for $20.00 a minute. I prefer a nice crackhouse over a shooting gallery.

You know I could rent you out as a decoy for duck hunters?
No I didn't. How much rent? Send me a flier.

Do you suppose I could buy back my introduction to you?
Yes you may. That'll be $1500.00 please. The pleasure is ALL mine.

The next time I see you, remind me not to talk to you, will you?
OK. SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!! ;)

D.C. is just a very politically correct town, which is limiting for comedy, thats my only point. As for my little tirade, MIKEYBOY, dont take it personal. I just like to rant, then I turn into a lovable little puppy afterwards. As for BOOGIEBOO, I've seen Duck Soup, Night at the Opera, Day at the Races, Love Happy, Animal Crackers, etc. I just haven't watched them in 20 years, some of us moved on to Lenny Bruce, 70's Richard Pryor, George Carlin, and Chris Rock. All of which I'm sure is over your head. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving BOOGIEBOO! And if run out of witty barbs and I dont hear from you have a Merry Christmas!

D.C. is just a very politically correct town

Given the FCC these days, EVERYWHERE is a "politically correct town."

Outside of the recent overall climate, I really don't don't see anything that indicates DC has somehow been more "PC" than any other major market. Maybe more politically INCLINED because of the area...

I'd venture that the DC area is far less P.C. far more politically radical and possessed of a larger underground than NY, simply because the regular folks are less jaded, self important and desperate to the point where every fad becomes the standard fare for the bourgeoisie. As for comedy the Marx Brothers didn't cease to be relevant because of Lenny Bruce, or Richard Pryor, their successors made them MORE important for opening doors to improvisation and social commentary that were impermissible prior (not Richard) to their genius and subversion. As for witty barbs, why waste them on the bowling ball-like incisiveness of your "wit."

Did you hear the shows when Al Dukes dropped by for a visit?

Good times. Week of November 1st. The "Translate the Mexican" debacle from October 28th was pretty funny, too.

Outside of that, the file library on a whole is a pretty safe bet if you just want show highlights. Like what some have said, funny is pretty subjective, so what others found to be hilarious, you might might find dull, or vice-versa.

Hi BoogieBoo, its the bowling ball again taking another roll with you down facinating lane. Appartently you've been watching too much Sex in the City (P.S. it's make believe). New York has more Communists than Washington has Socialists. New York has more EVERYTHING, that's why it's New York. Unless you've LIVED in both towns (I have) you'd have no idea what you're talking about, but I'm sure that doesn't stop you from having an opinion on the matter. Ron+Fez were more edgy, more dangerous on the old WNEW show than they are now, and the callers aren't even close. R+F are still funny and I still love them. My last post on the subject, this is getting boring and I come here for yuks, not politics. Say hi to Groucho for me!
