In the tradition of RF.net members who are visting foreign soil I might as well as let ya all know what life is like here in Okinawa.

One the yen exchange is not so bad, but still beers are expensive being about 700 yen a pop (7 dollars).

The people are friendly, but not everyone is cool with the US prescence here. I dont blame them, Okinawa is 3 percent of Japanese population but 90 percent of bases.

There are a lot of other nationalities here too including Czechs, Slovaks, Russians, etc.

You have not had sushi till you have had it here in Japan.

Karaokee kicks ass too

Oppostie side of road driving will fuck you up, but cars are cheap. Like 4000 for like a 99. Most cars are in good shape. But there is all sorts of salt air here

"What do all men want Phillip?"
"He wants you to dress up like Wonder Woman, tie him up with your golden lariat and force him to tell the truth?????"

Just watch out for randy U.S. servicemen. "No" means ANYTHING but "no" to some of them...

Was that some new recruitment tactic on the USMC part?

Recruitment officer: "I have good news and bad news....the bad news is you will be away from home alot and might be shot at. The good news is a woman will wash your balls every night."

Funks Brother: "Damn man SIGN ME UP!"

P.S. Furie....it's sWords.

I heard being stationed there sucks. It's like an American military fortress.
