For a while now I've been looking for a second job because Best Buy isn't giving me enough hours, and they turned me down for a full tome position in my department. Although I was offered a full time spot in a another non sales position but I turned it down only because standing in one spot all day saying hi and have a nice day isnt exactly me. I like to be active. As odd as it sounds I like stock.

So the other day I had an interview with Target. They wanted to give me 12- 20 hours a week part time doing soft lines. AS desperate as I am for money I said Ill take the position. The guy told me he still has more applicants to look over, but he will hear from me either way.
That was Wednesday. Thursday I planned on going into work early to make up my hours lost on Wednesday. I woke up at 9:30AM. About 5 minutes later my cell phone rings. It's work. I answer my phone "so what time do you want me in?" My new boss starts laughing and apologizes by saying I hate to introduce myself this way but how soon can you get here, someone just quit on us and we need someone at the backdoor of the store (Lost prevention)

So that day I come in at 11 and work till 10PM. Now I'm not a big fan of standing around meeting and greeting everyone, answering dumb questions ECT. All of my bosses are not offering me this full time spot. So finally I give in, it would be stupid of me to not take the position. The benefits are great and I need more money. Now all I'm waiting for is one guy to give the OK and he wont be in until Tuesday. (Stupid fishing trip)

Meanwhile, Wednesday I filled out an application online for this Part time job working at a Ron Jon's Surf shop in Tampa Airport. I get a call yesterday from someone wanting to talk to me about my resume on monster.com and possibly set up an interview. Now I told them specifically that I'm looking for a part time job and I'm looking to stay with best Buy.

I get another call from someone else to set up an interview for today. He tells me they are only looking to hire Full Timers.

Last night I was talking to someone at this party who happens to be an assistant grocery manager at a well know supermarket down here (PUBLIX)
He tells me he can get me in making $8.25 an hour full time, with several pay increases within one year. I told him; let me see how things go and Ill get back to him.

Now you see how things are going, I don't get it. When I'm not looking for a job everyone wants to either set up an interview or hire me on the spot. When I need a job, nobody is hiring! What the hell is going on here?

Ah, the job market in Tampa...
That's how I ended up back in NY.
But I did get to experience the young R+F!

Check UPS of FedEx, they're always hiring people to load their cars. It' pyhsical, and the hours are early, but if pays fairly well and has good benefits (Health, Dental, Life, Perscription, Mental). Plus, it will get you in shape. And if you work really hard you can apply to become a part time supervisor.

gypsy, how do you become a part time supervisor, I always thought anything supervisor related was full time

ag, you post about jobs as often as Keithy posts about finding that right girl.

I do? I thought Ive posted it like maybe 3 times the most. Hmm guess you have a point though 3 times is a bit much. I dunno, I just dont have any creative posts anymore. Im tapped out. Then again I dont think I ever had a creative post or anything interesting to say

I can't find the right job or the right girl. But then again, I hate to work, and I'm a bad judge of character.
