Is it wrong that american history X makes so much sence

Im not talking about the message but like umm some of the stuff they say makes sence just the whole violent action thing is bad and also i think its okay to hayte but not to take action on your hate because if you can hate a color and food then why not something else

It was a pretty good movie if you ask me. Edward Norton is truly one of the most gifted actors working today.

But, c'mon, what are you talking about? Yeah, it's okay to hate something, but when you're talking about, say, a race of people.....dude, that's wrong anyway you look at it.

I haven't seen the movie but I looked up it's site.

This is what was listed:
"After the death of his fireman father, Derek (Norton) becomes obsessed with neo-Nazi propaganda and hate, leading to his incarceration for murder. Three years later, Derek gets out of prison, hoping to make a clean start and disavowing his former fascistic tendencies. Is the movie about understanding and peace or is about neo nazis?

The movie is about Derek getting out of jail and changing his life. But he comes home to find out that he is idolized by not only his friends but his younger brother. He then takes steps to try to change his brother and put him on the right path.

The end result and the end of the movie is a shocker.

GOOD ASS MOVIE! I saw it on TV, and can't wait to rent it! Well, I can wait.

And I think that one of the points the movie was trying to make was that Discrimination is wrong, but so is Reverse Descrimination. Like what his Dead dad was talking about at dinner about Affirmative Action.

No silly King!...the movie featured a number of flashbacks. In one it featured Dereks father speaking to the family at the dinner about people of different races. The interesting part of the flashback shows that his was just an average guy...and not full blown racist. Derek took his fathers ideals too serious...

I hope im summing this up right.

I ain't no racist but my grandfather was a guard commander in one of Hitler's camps (Mauthausen) and he was a racist Nazi, now my brother is a Nazi and even my mother is 'not in favor of coloured people'. That doesn't make me a racist so the kid in the movie is just a little bit 'overreacting'. The movie does have a message: Nazi's always end up dead. Look at Romper Stomper and the other Nazi movie's, they always die.

American History X is my favorite drama of all time, and I think it does make perfect sense, keeping in mind the point and that it's a beautiful redemption story. I also have some brother issues, so this movie really hit home, (not that my brother is a Nazi or anything). And Christ almighty, if that scene at the end doesn't destroy you (thanks to the unmatchable Ed Norton) and hurl you into an uncontrollable weeping pile than nothing will affect you ever.
