I don't know, perhaps it was that Tom & Jerry cartoon where that blouse was draped over the old style vacuum cleaner and it ended up looking like a ghost, but for whatever reason the hum of vacuum cleaners running always creeps me out on some odd level. Not enough so that I have to run from the room screaming like a schoolgirl with pigtails, but rather it just causes me to get goosebumps when I hear them.<img src="http://www.osirusonline.com/fraidy.jpg" border="0" />

i dont much like vaccuums much either but thats cuz my parents always made me vacuum a bunch. plus theyre too loud so i cant hear my tv.

My boyfriend-in-law just got that Red and Blue one off of Amazon for
$300. Apparently there are deals all over the place for them, you just
have to find them. The canister will be mine if I can stop blowing my
money elsewhere.

i now want that vacuum. for some reason i enjoy vacuuming the house and with those bad boys it may cut my work in half.  i actually really want one that had a remote control.  life would rule then.

Thanks for the confession, Opie.I don't think it's the same as Op's, mine is just more that my skin crawls when I hear the sound of the vaccum. I'm fine with it, though it does creep me out for some odd reason.
