View Full Version : I started Weight Watchers today

My job has one of those "Weight Watchers at work" programs. Since I'm now medically diagnosed as "fat fuckitis", I decided to try it. We started today, and I have NO clue how I'm gonna do this. I hit my "point total" today eating what felt like nothing. I almost passed out late in the day at work I was so hungry.

But I dont want pity - I'm the one who let myself get fat, so I need to suck it up and do something about it. Hope this gets easier.

Anyone else do Weight Watchers? Did it work, and does it get any easier?

Half your problem is your appetite's too big. Get used to eating
less, and if you really get into it you'll eat even less than they
"allow" you.

Terry Schaivo lived two weeks without ANY food or water. I think you can cut yours down and survive.

Can placebos cause side effects? And if so, are the side effects real?

Just wondering - would anyone be interested in me posting updates on how I'm doing on my weight loss? Maybe there are other board members like me trying to lose weight and having a hard time. If I'm successful, someone else out there might feel motivated to try as well. I don't want to draw attention to myself or anything, but I am willing to put myself out there. Hey, if I fail miserably, it could be even more amusing.

Again, I don't mind being told "keep it to yourself, you fat tub of goo". Just asking.

Good choice. I lost 50 pounds on WW last spring and summer. It's still off, even though I rarely follow their plan anymore. Best of luck to you.

But back to Silly Puddy. Good for you. MOST people in life just complain about things they don't like about themselves or their life in general. I know I do. But you went out and are a trying to remedy your weight problem. I hope to see you at the MTV Beach House getting down with 6 pack abs and a killer tan.

Well, just had my first weigh-in today, and I'm down 7 lbs. First week is always the most, but I'm pretty stoked. If I have anywhere near the success Tazz had, I'll be really happy.

After 8 weeks: Down 27 lbs.

The waist size has gone from a 44 to a 38, and I can actually do an hour of cardio in the gym now without needing an oxygen tank. Still a LONG way from goal, but it's working so far.

What is your goal and when do you expect to reach it?

I've averaged over 3 lbs a week, but I figure that will slow down a little the closer I get to my goal.

Well done on the weight loss. Forget my numbers, or any numbers, any loss is good. Five pounds loss, think of a pound of ground beef, and stacking up five of those babies, and substitute that lovely yellow chicken fat adipose tissue [yum!] and ponder that.
