Our septic pump broke. N.S.F... well, anyone.

<p>Jesus.&nbsp; What a way to spend a Sunday.&nbsp; Just as I was finishing lunch and getting ready to do a few things around the yard, my father comes up from behind our house and says he saw the pit where we have our septic pump overflowing.&nbsp; It seems we have a large holding tank where our toilet, sinks and tubs go into before they are pumped to the street.&nbsp; Well, it seems the pump had finally died, and lovely liquid was coming out from under the cover we have on the pit.&nbsp; </p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Pump time.&nbsp; My father and I had to take a water pump we had and drain the awesome liquid around the top of the huge metal canister the pump sits in.&nbsp; That was fun to start.&nbsp; THEN, my father got in the 3 foot deep pit and took the lid off the top of the canister the pump was in.&nbsp; Lucky for us, 3 of the screws had to be drilled out.&nbsp; It was a fun time.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Words cannot adequetly describe my feelings looking at what was in that thing when we took the top off.&nbsp; Forget the smell so far, this was terrible.&nbsp; I've never seen such shades of black to dark gray.&nbsp; And the CORN!&nbsp; Holy shit.&nbsp; We shouldn't eat so healthy.&nbsp; </font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">So anway, we actually then had to dig, with a stick, in sludge to try to find the float that is the switch to turn the pump on and off.&nbsp; It seems that had come unhooked from whatever it was on, and had let our pump run constantly for days or weeks maybe.&nbsp; So there was really no fixing it.&nbsp; We had to get a plumber in there.&nbsp; But on a Sunday?&nbsp; We were fucked.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">So done playing with our own shit, and guess what.&nbsp; Since all our showers and sinks empty into this tank, and the pump is dead, we can't even shower at our own house.&nbsp; So we have to get in the car in our disgusting clothes and drive to my uncle's just to get a shower.&nbsp; Damn.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Plumber showed up, was here for a couple hours and everything is back to normal.&nbsp; It was so nice to have water back.&nbsp; It turns out that the pump that died was put in back in 1983.&nbsp; I guess we got our money's worth.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Thank you for reading, and don't EVER question why a plumber charges so much an hour.&nbsp; He plays with your SHIT and PISS all fucking day.</font></p>

You go to take a shower, and the stall smeels like poo!</p><p>So for her&nbsp;being nice enough to let us stay there,&nbsp; we have the bitch pumped out. She would hear us going down the stairs and open her door to ask us to run to the store for her. She never wore a bra and them things would hang down to her waist.&nbsp; She always gave us a decent tip and really was a sweet lady</p><p>good times</p>

We actually are on the sewers in the town.&nbsp; We just have a holding tank tha everything goes to before the pump sends it out.&nbsp; Not sure if this is an old system or what.&nbsp; I wasn't that familiar with our sewage system until Sunday.&nbsp; Now&nbsp;I know too much.

<p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Love these new tools.&nbsp; You see that gray area in my original post?&nbsp; No idea how it got there.&nbsp; Man these tools are the best.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0" /></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">Anyway, next time, I'm just going to get the pump and change it with my dad.&nbsp; There was ONE connection and some simple wiring to do, and we could have saved a plumber visit.&nbsp; We drained the fucking hole ourselves and cleaned it.&nbsp; We sprayed the sludge with the hose until it thinned out and drained it with our pump.&nbsp; When it clogged due to gunk and hair, we would take it out, spray it clean, fill the hole with water again and drain it.&nbsp; We got down to the bottom of the canister this way in about 2 hours.</font></p><p><font style="background-color: #c0c0c0">I DREAD the bill, although like I said, I can't really argue with him because it's a filthy job.&nbsp; If this had happened on a day that most plumbing supply places were open, we'd have fixed it that day.&nbsp; But shit happens.</font></p>
