<p>When you apply for a Job (or fill out your resume) how honest are you?</p><p>Do you answer their questions honestly....or do you give the answer that you THINK they wanna hear?</p><p> </p><p>My brothers girlfriend applied for a job at BestBuy. On their questionaire, they ask questions like "have you ever THOUGHT about stealing money but, not actually taken any?" and "if someone lost something of value and you returned it to them, are you HAPPIER when there is a reward?"</p><p>I think these are loaded questions. She answered them honestly and they told her that she did not meet their requirements. </p><p>She told me that there were several questions that were "tricky" so I went online and took their little pre-interview. I was (pretty much) totally honest and, wouldn't you know it, I dont meet their minimum req's either.</p><p>"Have you ever been late for work in the last 3 years?" Anyone that answers "NO" is lying. Over the course of a few years...you're gonna be late at least once or twice. </p><p>It's interesting that they only want people who lie (about the level of honesty) on the friggin' application!!</p><p> </p><p>So...do YOU lie on a job app?</p>

the key is to tell the truth on the app or resume cause they can

I'm usually very honest at both the Application and Interview stage. But I've never filled out an application with loaded questions like that. I would totally answer stupid questions like that with what I thought they would want.

ANyone can lie on a job app, but it takes real balls to lie on an sf86 form and then keep back information from a government agent investigating your background

I work for a subsidiary of the Bank of NY and a girl was fired after working here 2 days cause she wasn't truthful on her application.
Trust me, it won't hurt.

<p>I once got a job because I out and out lied during the interview, which I regretted later only because of the kind of job it was and they assumed I was ape-shit thrilled about doing it.</p><p>I also never mention during the interview that I fritter away company time on internet message boards talking about radio shows. They all learn that soon enough.</p>

Just applied to Wal-Mart yesterday. The questionare was more like an agree/disagree rating thing. I don't think they could've had any more redundant with the pot smoking/conformity questions.

It's Ok to lie as long as you got people to back up what you put on an application/resume,
