I'm a sucker for TV commercials

<p>Advertisers must love me, I'm a sucker. Especially for FOOD commercials.</p><p>If I see that there is a new burger or some new yummy cereal I will almost always go try it. Obviously, it has to be something that appeals to me, but if it does I say 80% of the time I will go out of my way to buy it because of the commercial. </p><p>For example, I don't eat at Burger King normally but when they had to Sponge Bob Watches I went to eat there just to get the watch. I'm such&nbsp;a tool. </p><p>The other commercials that get me are for movies that are released on DVD. If it's a movie I liked, I'll go get it. Luckily, I haven't made myself go broke yet.</p><p>Do ads have this effect on anyone else?</p>

I got TiVo so I could skip all the commercials. I can't stand watching regular TV now. I'll start recording a show and go do something else for 20 minutes then start watching it just so I can fast foward thru commercials. TiVo is great.&nbsp;

<p>I feel bad for commercial people to tell you the truth.&nbsp; I mean most of them are hacks and make shit commercials, but I really feel bad for the ones that do a good one.&nbsp; Because they have ONE chance to make me chuckle, hunger for their product or want whatever it is.&nbsp; Then, it's over.&nbsp; The 2nd time you see a funny commercial, it's not nearly as funny.&nbsp; Then the commercial gets put in rotation for weeks, and by the time it's taken out, you are VERY SICK of that commercial.</p><p>The people that make these things have to be on top of their game all the time and constantly one upping their last piece of work or it's Bud Light &quot;Real American Heros&quot; all over again.&nbsp; BLECH!</p>

Every time I see that Geico Commercial for "Tiny House" I get my hopes up that it's a real show. They get me every time...
