Just came back from seeing Ron Howard's
Cinderella Man. It's an early contender for Oscars. There are great
performances all around, Crowe, Zellwiger and Giamatti should all get
nominations. It's a true story told well, with great action sequences.
The movie runs 2:20 but I was never bored. I highly recommend it.

this is he summer, when the good movies come out.

That's a matter of taste. It's probably more accurate t say that this is summer when the "summer blockbusters" come out. The movies likely to get Oscar nominations come out later in the year.

Not the best but definitely in the top 50 Summer Movies ever: "Back to the Future." When I think of that flick, I think of summer time...don't you?

I, for one, did not enjoy Cinderella Man. I thought it was contrived and formulaic. Renee Zellweger was as one-dimensional as always. The boxing scenes were rather boring. The forced history lessons made me want to vomit ("Gee, that Hoover really screwed us. FDR will turn it around!") Russell Crowe was OK. I give it 2 stars. No oscars. Ron Howard did a good job with the directing, though.

The only thing keeping me from seeing this film IS Renee Zellewiger.
She just makes me want to vomit witht hat little pouty face of hers and
it always makes me think of Bridget Jones when I see he as well. I may
have to stomach it though.
Don't forget how incredibly precious life is. Try not to let a day go by without telling somone close to you that you love them.

Renee is totally disposable in this movie. ANY actress could've taken that role and the movie would not be affected. But then again....this whole movie is strictly by-the-numbers. Everything that you THINK is going to happen, happens.
