A little over a month ago I purchased this CREATIVE SBS 5.1 560 speaker system.

I'm having a problem. When I first installed it, the left/front speaker didn't work. It was getting some sort of signal, as it made occasional noises (but not wave sounds like the rest of the speakers). I have no idea what I did, but I eventually got it to work.

Now I'm having the same problem. Since I've confirmed that it's not the actual satellite (and it's probably not the subwoofer) I've come to the conclusion the actual problem is with my computer. It could be how I've set up my bios, it could be my sound card, it could be the TV/FM tuner that is plugged into my sound card, etc...

Does anyone have any suggestions of what I can do to find the root of the problem? I contacted CREATIVE, and they want the receipt and exact date of purchase, in order to avoid having to pay almost as much as the whole system cost to buy in the first place (yes, I'm an idiot for not keeping the receipt).

While I'm whining about my problems, does anyone have a battery door for one of these?
