For whatever reason, whatever I posted yesterday got screwed up and
I didn't realize it until now. I'm posting something new instead of
editing that last thing so that it gets bounced to the top....I
got my pics back yesterday from the final FNL and will scan and post
some of them tomorrow. Since most of the pictures were for other people
I'll let them make the decision of they would like them posted. Since
January 21, the motto has always been "What happens on Fridays stays at
Thursdays," and this won't be an exception. I hope others with had
cameras respect that as well. 
There are a few festive pics I can share, so I will. The night
was very odd - a mixture of sadness and celebration, fitting an end to
the best radio show Washington D.C. has ever seen.

he constantly talks about being Jewish on it.  He even makes fun
of how much he talks about it.  I did also hear him refer to all
his in studio cronies as associates before.   It's actually a

I've heard a few of their shows and some of their bits, Cowhead is pretty damn good. Definitely way better than some of the other programs on XM. If the Philips Phile can get a show then these guys should be able to get one as well.

Great hearing R&F again (I know it's only been about 10 days, but I'm having the withdrawls!). I was actually thinking this morning that this was the second longest stretch of time between radio gigs for them in their careers. They sounded like they were really happy and having a lot of fun and couldn't wait to get to do the new show.  Damn they are funny. Nice hearing some callers with throwbacks to the "Ron and Ron" days in Florida, the BAC numbers from WNEW, and a DC person and even our own Photoshop Mike call in. Favorite moment was hearing Fez hit the floor at Jimmy's "My Bodyguard" throwaway line. A riot. I also liked how Ron kept answering Opie's serious timeline related questions with dumb jokes, how he corrected Opie on the 10% math, and when R&F also completely ignored the Fuckos question. In all, they sounded like good friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time, and a couple of times were not quite up to speed with each other - which is fine, because that's what that was! Glad to hear some of the stories of after O&A left WNEW, and a few insight behind the recent speculation with R&F at WJFK.Not going to complain about Bob Saggett in there - he was very funny. Anyone who saw the Rodney special knew that. I just wish he had been on a different day.The Bar 9 site, btw...the place may be cool, but what an obnoxious use of Flash.

Ron and Fez were fine while they were at WJFK, it's just that they didn't get support and that got to them a number of times. Keshia was far from "dog shit." Hearing them on O&A now, and looking back at all of the hints and speculation, it is obvious Ron and Fez were planning to leave WJFK last spring, and WJFK knew about it and (by the looks of the final out come) didn't really care. Maybe there were some back and forth with them, but it did sound today some of the blame should lay at the feet of their agent.One first real sign that things were going to go the way they went was when J. Dubs left and no real effort was made to replace him; Giant Brian was moved into his spot, after being there for about five months, while the unpaid (and often untrained) interns divided up some of his duties. When GB left and there was no movement at all to hire a replacement for him, it was pretty obvious that it was all about time and contracts and etc. Keshia did the best she could considering the circumstances, and in many cases (I at least thought) she proved quite fearless and funny and proved she could learn. Some of her instincts were still being formed, but what better place to learn what makes good radio than the good old "Ron and Fez trial by fire"?

According to the replay, Ron said they THOUGHT they were leaving in March, which correlates with my theory that the only reason Keisha was elevated to producer is because WJFK knew they were leaving and just didn't bother to get them a new producer.

wasn't anybody's fault. They've been trying to get him for weeks. I'm
sure they didn't want to bump him. And he kind of walked in, and Opie
at first sounded surprised and like he was a bit pissed, so I'm sure he
wanted to give R&F more time. But, hey, it was a great show, so who
cares? Maybe there will be one more AFRO show before R&F return.
And O&A just may have got another friend of the show.

It sounded to me that the Saget bit was going on longer than O&A had initially intended. I think they wanted to spend more time talking with the boys, though the Saget interview was going pretty well. Plus they know they'll have plenty of time to talk some more with them.Overall it was a great show and awesome to hear them. It's really odd because I've heard them many many times over the the various feeds and other sources and it just wasn't as exciting as hearing them live in the XM studio.

Ron and Fez will have there own show starting on September 12th (live at 11am-2pm right after O&A's show which is live from 7am-11am )That last AFRO show (8/8/05) was technically still the O&A show with Ron and Fez as guests. I don't know the complete history of the AFRO shows that were on WNEW, but I think they had them both ways: Ron and Fez sitting in on O&A's show and O&A sitting in on Ron and Fez's show, that whole time they had seperate shows. And for a few weeks Ron and Fez did the mid day shift before O&A and their normal night time show after O&A's Afternoon show. so they did 2 live shows a day and there was some cross over with O and/or A.<a href="http://www.xmradio.com/programming/channel_page.jsp?ch=202" target="_blank"><img src="http://scripts.cgispy.com/image.cgi?u=skw" border="0" /></a>

Someone called in and asked about a show that O&A have never heard of and Ron addressed it and moved on - that simple. They were there to celebrate their move on satellite radio and get caught up with Opie and Anthony <div> </div><div> Now, there may be a good chance that Ron doesn't listen, but that's more because he admits that he doesn't listen to the radio. He's been getting up to speed since he got his XM for Father's Day, and he would occasionally catch bits from Stern & Don and Mike (usually, with the latter, when he was on his way in). Not that he hated them, but because he has other things to do than listen to the radio.  If anything is to be read into that moment (and heaven forbid that I read anything into anything) is that Ron really didn't want to get into the whole "Golden Ticket" thing where it pertained to other radio shows. Not his place, at least not on the air. So anytime Anthony and/or Opie would sit in on R&F, that was an AFRO Show, or (like this week) with the reversed with Ron and Fez sitting in as 4th & 5th mics. *> *> THE OTHER kind of AFRO Show was an actual programming gimmic Jeremy Coleman cooked up when they tossed D&M from WNEW in the middays, and had Ron and Fez go into that spot. The Hideout obviously listens to O&A, they mention the Golden Ticket thing from time to time, and congradulated Ron and Fez on their move.Of course I'm not there so I don't know exactly what is going on in the studio. I'm not trying to petition Ron to push The Hideout into XM. I just thought that moment would have been nice for Ron to give the Hideout some positive mention. I was just guessing maybe there is some reason I don't know that didn't allow Ron to do this. I didn't think that Ron didn't like their show, that's why I used the words "Maybe, possible, and perhaps"I'm not upset with Ron in any way for what he said or didn't say, just thought it would be nice. That's it.
