Does anyone know of a good, HONEST place that does oil changes in the Hudson county area (Jersey City specifically)? I used to get my oil changed down the shore when I dated a guy from there but now I'm stuck going to Pep Boys and they are expensive. Not to mention I have to get there at 7am in order for them to do it.

A place I can wait and get what I need done for $20-25 would be nice.

Thanks!!!!!

Wish I could help. Check for a Jiffy Lube or something like that. The place I go to you don't even leave your car. Quick.

My advice would be to find a reputable mechanic in your neighborhood. Ask the older neighbors for some references. It may cost you a couple bucks more for an oil change, but while he's got you on the lift, he may pinpoint some real potential trouble. (HYUNDAI?)

I once went (was towed) to my mechanic thinking I blew my clutch. $500 easy! He said, we had some heavy rain lately, and my clutch plate was rusted. He charged me $50 for the work, where he could have raped me.

The key is, find an honest mechanic, let him do all the work (oil change, tire rotation, etc) and it will pay off in the end

PS NEVER forget your mechanic at Christmas Time!!

I go to JiffyLube or Lubexpress on rt. 22 but there IS a reputable mechanic on Avenue B & 50th st. in Bayonne.

I know it's useless, but, why not just do it yourself?
