Going to see the Shuttle Launch

My GF and I got off from work tuesday to go drive and see the launch. Think Ive got a route down however still not sure of a good location to watch it. Titusville seems to be the best spot to watch it. Was wondering if anyone has ever done this sorta thing before. Granted most of you are from up north, know one person thats from my neck of the woods over here by Tampa

I lives in FLorida for many years and never went to see a shuttle launch. So, I can be of no help to you, sorry. <br />

<p>Where I live in Bayonne I can see the Statue Of Liberty perfectly but unless some raghead is driving the shuttle I 'aint seeing shit.</p><p>My best advice?&nbsp;&nbsp; Look up.</p>

<p>The camera facing down on the shuttle is great - it took about a minute before you saw Florida fade away and you could make out the curve of the earth.&nbsp; That's f'n fast.&nbsp; Although I think I did see Paul O's wife.&nbsp; </p><p>Excellent coverage by AOL.</p>

Hey Ag... Let us know how it went. From what I saw on TV, the clouds in the background really added to the visual. I saw the shuttle launch from about 50 miles away, back in Nov. of '85. It was a night time launch, which was INCREDIBLE!

<p>lainch was really cool. It took us about 3 hours from coast to coast. Left here around 11:10 and got to Titusville around 2ish. What was great was I really only had to take one major east west road to get there and litterally where State road 50 and US meet was and is the best spot to view the launch. I was going to drive further south but the GF wanted me to pull off to the side. So we crashed in the car that night, got maybe 2 hours of sleep. Was up at like 6AM just in time to watch the sunrise.
