<p>The speculation over the worst kept secret in radio is over... From <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/07/30/AR2005073001213.html?sub=AR" target="_blank">The Washington Post</a>...</p><p></p>
<p><font size="-1" face="Arial,Helvetica" color="#000000"><strong>Look Out, Howard!</strong><br /><!-- BREAK --></font></p>
<hr size="1" />
<p>Local shock jocks <em>Ron and Fez</em>
will take their show to XM Satellite Radio, according to the network.
Beginning Sept. 12, they will broadcast weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
on XM Channel 202, High Voltage.</p>
<p>"It should come as no surprise that Ron and Fez are making the jump," <em>Eric Logan</em>
, XM's executive vice president of programming, said in a statement.
"High Voltage is a perfect place for them to do what they do best."</p>
<p>The network plans an official announcement tomorrow.</p>
<p>Ron
Bennington and Fez Whatley began broadcasting together in Florida in
the mid-'90s before coming to Washington. Their show airs weeknights on
WJFK (106.7-FM), which is home to "The <em>Don and Mike</em> Show." WJFK also carries <em>Howard Stern</em> <em>'s</em>
syndicated program. Stern made waves last October when he announced
plans to move to Sirius Satellite Radio in January 2007 for $500
million, saying the decision was a response to censorship by the
Federal Communications Commission. The content of satellite programs is
not regulated by the agency.</p>
<p>Details of Ron and
Fez's deal with XM were not available, but the duo will appear on the
network's "Opie and Anthony" show Aug. 9 for a Q&A.</p>
<p>"It was a mutual decision. We appreciate their contributions to WJFK and we wish them well," said <em>Michael</em> <em>Hughes</em> , senior vice president and general manager of WJFK.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The official announcement should come during OnA in the morning.<br />

XM will now be worth the money. Do you have to pay any extra fees to hear this channel?<br />

In general, I'm VERY happy about this. But (as Death Metal Moe pointed out) the new time slot will be dissapointing to some, like myself. Then again, I'm sure things will be changing a lot in the coming months. I'd be willing to bet, whatever lineup XM has on Sept. 12th, won't stay that way forever. I wish the boys the best, and I'll be listening to them, no matter when they're on!

one day you'll wake up and realise...I love that guy.Stop the madness... They started out on a pay channel, because XM wasn't sure exactly<p> </p><p>how they'd be received. The response was overwelming.. XM dropped them to a normal</p><p>channel when they changed their pricing stucture Apr 1st, 2005. More people are able the </p><p>hear them now, since alot of people didn't want to pay the $1.99. Not to mention, that</p><p>it doesn't make good business sense to have your premium talk show on a channel</p><p>where you have to pay extra, and over on Sirius you'll be able to get Hoo Hoo Howie</p><p>for free. (well with alot of commercials, since they have to recoup the $500mil they're</p><p>paying Howie). Alot of the content on both Satellite companies is not owned by the</p><p>company, and bascially syndicated. That's why you'll not be able to get certain channels</p><p>via the web interface on both companies sites. </p><p> </p><p>Now it's official, O&A brought it out this morning, R&F definitly on there. </p><p> XM had a press release, pointing out a AFRO show Aug-9th-2005 on the O&A</p><p>show. </p>

Last i checked you pay 7.99 for the xm online feed. If you do buy a radio and sub the 12.95 or something you get the online version at no extra cost. The online audio is a tad more compressed than the physical radio version but still sounds pretty good.

Is it possible to buy the XM radio and set it to tape R & F every day like a VCR? I'm not sure how XM works but I'm hoping one of you guys can inform me. Do XM products play in mpegs that you save to your computer? Thanks buddies.

</p><p>The MyFi has that kind of functionality. If
you leave it in it's home dock, it will automatically record the show
and you can listen to it whenever you like. You cannot transfer it to
your computer, however.<br />

<p>If you buy a MyFi you can set it to record up to 4 hours of music. I think you get more hours when recording talk shows since they are higher compression. </p><p>Those of you that are going to be using the XM online version, the XM client has a 2 hour time out if its idle. You can use the xamp client that has no timeout and is just better in general.</p><p><a href="http://xampd.imomo.net/" target="_blank">http://xampd.imomo.net/</a></p>

dropped from the premium package....dont know if it's true but it's

never liked Norton poking his opinions in every couple of minutes so i

<p>First, I'm happy that R+F are done with keeping quiet about the move, that had to be tough, amid all the spec and rumours; now everyone can relax.</p><p>Show times? Replay schedules incorrect? Only three hours? Who Cares? To me, all utterly irelevant. I celebrate the Good news, and it's All good. R+F are coming to XM. Everything else is up in the air, and gonna change in the future anyway.</p><p>O+A are very very good and getting better all the time, but R+F remain, in my opinion, the two best people in the entire industry. Throw in smartest and funniest. Throw in TV and Cable. </p><p>This is the part of the movie 'Snatch' where Brick-Top says, 'Get your tongue out of my Ass...'</p>

Thanks for the response guys. I'm just wondering...how are you working guys and girls going to listen to the show every day? If you get the Myfi that records only four hours but doesn't save to a computer, you'd have to listen to the show every day and then tape over it every single day. Am I right on that one? I don't know anything about XM yet because I have been waiting for this great day to look into XM.

<font size="2"><strong>..and here's the Press Release:<br /></strong>Washington, D.C., August 1, 2005 – XM Satellite Radio, the nation’s leading satellite radio service with more than 4.4 million subscribers, today announced that Washington D.C. talk radio personalities Ron and Fez will bring their popular daily radio show and irreverent humor to XM Satellite Radio. <br /><br />Beginning September 12, Ron and Fez will broadcast weekdays from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. ET exclusively on High Voltage (XM Channel 202), with encores airing from 7-10 p.m. ET and 2-5 a.m. ET. Prior to the start of their new XM show, Ron and Fez will join long-time friends and XM talk personalities Opie and Anthony on their show Tuesday, August 9 from 7-11 a.m. ET. <br /><br />“It should come as no surprise that Ron and Fez are making the jump to XM where they will have the opportunity to create the kind of radio that has made them popular with their long-time fans and expand their fan base to millions of XM listeners,” said Executive Vice President of Programming for XM Eric Logan. “Ron and Fez are two of the funniest guys on the radio and XM’s High Voltage is a perfect place for them to do what they do best.” <br /><br />The duo, Ron Bennington and Fez Whatley, have built a dedicated following since their start in Florida during the mid-1990’s, including successful runs in New York and Washington D.C. markets.</font><br />

2 things:
Opie was talking about how the press release said they'd be on a replay from 7-10pm eastern. This is WHAT I want since it keeps the boys replay in the same time slot it used to be live on WJFK and NEW...
but Opie said this wasn't right since he thought O and A were supposed to stay in West Coast Drive time.....
second: Why only a 3 hour show? My speculation is the other "4 golden tickets" being given out will be smaller sized shows (less than 4 hours) so O and A can have more replays...
...that still doesn't mean I can't wish for a 4 hour R&F show... and yes I know that I'll still probably get more "SHOW" out of a satellite broadcasted Ron and Fez 3 hour show than i did 4 hours on commercial radio, but more is more and i want 4 hours :)

</a><br />You are correct
sir. on WJFK they usually did around 150 minutes of actual radio. Which
comes out to 2.5 hours. So we're actually getting more R&F!<br />
<br />
Also, I wouldn't doubt they eventually get 4 full hours, and possibly
change the shows time slot. Once they go through the whole "test phase"
with XM, just like O&A did.<br />

The 3 hour show probably means XM is testing them to see how the hold
up to a national audience. I am sure if they do well they will extend
them to 4 hours. R&F did 7 hours with WNEW for a while when they
fired The Radio Chick and I think they won't have a problem being good
team players. They are known for being great team players.<br />

<br />Curtoid, I know that
R&F have logged some insane hours before - I remember the 7 hour
WNEW days. But the fact is that you can only fill so much time
per day. Maybe R&F themselves would rather start out with 3
hours on XM since (with the lack of commercials) there is so much time
to fill. Our buddies have plenty of material, but they're just
starting out on XM and probably want to ease into it and make sure they
start off doing some great shows. If they overextend themselves,
the show quality will suffer. This is more likely to happen when
they are beginning a brand new show.<p> </p><p>I say starting off doing three hours is a smart move. <br />

<p>The best part to me with the Washington Post blurb (aside from the fact that B(SP)AM was wrong on everything) was the title of the piece: <strong>"Move Over Howard."</strong> haha! The person writing it may not have been a fan of R&F, and may have missed some lil facts here and there, but whoever came up with the title got a small dig on Stern. Maybe because the person who use to write that column now is in New York doing a gossip column and has been savaged by Howard on many occassions. A lot of little power with the copy editors!! And in a bizzness like newspapers, you never know where people leave friends, etc.</p><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/curtoid/surf.jpg" border="0" />

<p>O&A said the 2 p.m. time as well and it didn't seem like it was a mistake.</p><p>I
actually hope XM does play the replay from 7-10 instead of that being a
mistake. OR have it during afternoon drive (east coast).</p><p>Don't get me wrong, I subscribed to XM to hear O&A, but I odn't need them during morning and afternoon drive. </p>

<p>Although I'm ecsatic about the move to XM, I have my concerns about the future of the show.</p><p>In particular, what are they going to do about the callers, who make up an important part of the show? Are there enough people listening on XM to make it a successful call-in show? Is it going to take time to build up a fan base of callers?</p><p>When they made their transition from WNEW to WJFK, they were able to maintain a steady stream of callers because they were still broadcasting in New York. This helped ease the transition and it gave the show time to become established before they left New York. This time they don't have that luxury and I wonder what that's going to do to the show until they get settled and build a strong fan base.</p>

<p>In alot of ways i do not see how this is better for the fans of the show, everyone complained that they couldnt here R&F live and had to listen to the taped versions from other people. So what does infinity do they give the show live streaming..........Which spawned two new complaints.........1. I can't call in whats the number to call in, well now they will be a national show spanning the nation not just a couple of states with a huge huge fanbase so chances of getting through is now less. 2. I don't like having to be tied to my computer just to listen to a radio show. So now that they are on from 11-2 won't you still have to listen from your computer (that is if wherever you work, even allows any kind of streaming) or tape the show and listen to it later? So everyone in NY you got your wish for the show back in NY apparently, but unless you work in your car or can get this streamed to you while at work, you are back in the same boat as before and like moe said if they fill the station up and keep R&F linked time wise with O&A then the chances of hearing the show even on repeat are the same as when it was in DC slim and none.</p><p>Im not begrudging R&F anything the business is what the business is. But as far as the fans are concerned i think the situation is probably alot worse, because now there is no free streaming and now we have to pay to hear the show</p>

we really have to just see what is going to happen with the time slot. maybe its just to start out. I agree the time does stink and just hope they move to a later EST time. O&A even said themself "Who wants to be on 11am-3pm time slot while everyone is working and cant listen" many many many months ago. And now R&F are in that time range....

<p>Take another look.</p><p> </p><p>R&F will be getting prime driving time in the West. </p><p>Beginning September 12, Ron and Fez will broadcast weekdays from 11 a.m. ET. <br /><br />11-2 is actually 8-11 with repeats 4-7 PST. This is really good for R&F, but may have a little impact for the East Coast fans. Why is it good for R&F. They will be broading their fan base across the country....not just East coast, expecially considering O&A will be giving them and hour or two of lead in time.</p><p>nother point is that Prime driving time, especially in California is 5 am to 7pm. Every see the photos of CA freeways? Never, never withought conjection. A great number of people living in CA commute 1-3 hours a day each way.</p><p> </p><p>I also believe that within the next few months you will be seeing additional personalities added to 202. XM is IMO going to make 202 a powerhouse in so-called shock jocks. Don't be surprised if replays are done away with within a year, except for late night hours.</p><p>Would suggest for those that can't miss a program, buy the Mify or wait until the Samsung/XM MP3 player is available in a couple of months. Or buy the Roady2 ($49.00) for a short-term fix and then buy the new Myfi 2 that will have longer playbacktimes and included hard-drive for memory. This should be available prior to XMas season.</p><p>JMHO</p><p>Roland</p><p> </p><p>Roland</p><p> </p><p>Roland</p><p> </p><p> </p>

haven't posted on here in forever if ever at all, not even sure but i'm always checking in, haven't heard ron and fez since wnew and am totally ecstatic about the move to XM. I guess the only thing I'm worried about, like others, is the time slot. I mean, who can forget the daytime vs nightime callers after o&a got booted? daytime blew. and having XM for awhile now, I can say, there are A LOT of southerners and truckers that call in. Daytime+callers from Alabama could get real scary-like. But overall, I'm thrilled they are coming to XM!

Infinity wasn't supporting the show because I think that Infinity is going to junk the entire FM talk format, whether Ron & Fez are clean or not. Once Howard leaves, it will be all music all of the time. Less of a chance of getting a FCC fine if you're only playing music. </p><p>I understand your situation. It seems that the better entertainment choices require some sort of subscription, and that's too bad. However, this is the political reality of the world that surrounds us. Politicians have allowed a few mega-media conglomerates to own most of the stations, and then these same politicians give into these religious-Jesus freaks who think that saying dirty words on the air hurts God's feelings. I guess the Bible doesn't preach about turning the damn channel. </p>
<p>Hi this is my first post:</p><p>I've had XM since Dec. of '03.
A couple of things I want to touch on. 1st: The MyFi
records 5+ hours. 5 Being the least amount of time. I've
had up to 7-8 hours on mine before. Its just that you can only
schedule 5 hours per day (but you can still use the 2go button to
record while listening or when you have to leave for a bit.)</p><p>2: The online feed is $8 (http://xmro.xmradio.com/xstream/index.jsp) but is included in the $12.95. </p><p>3:
For those of you who are concerned about this I can tell you, from
helping the O&A fans out, you won't regret it. It seems like
everyone who was worried about O&A going to XM were fine after they
got it. </p><p>4: There are XM fansites out there.
If you guys have any questions don't hesitate to come over and
post. My favorite is www.xm411.com. </p><p> </p><p> </p>

those without XM, you will probably be able to find the show available

already. I for one AM an XM subscriber, but I regularly download
O&A because I like to listen to the whole show and I am unable to
do that normally. If I am driving to work in the morning, I will listen
to them live, and at work (before 11) I will listen online. Then I
listen to the rest of the show I missed on my mp3 player. I can only
assume I will do the same with R&F. Hell, I have been listening to
R&F mp3s for so long now, there won't be much of a difference to
me, except for the lack of FCC regulation of the show now.</p><p> </p><p>If

<p>XM does have commercials except on their music channels (I believe 68 now). Anyone stating XM is commercial free, is totally wrong. As an investor, I'm gald it is not totally commercial free. I want to make some money on my investment-and I surely will. XM is projecting that 10-15% of their revenue will be from advertisors. As XM grows, so will the ad rates being paid by advertisers.</p><p>Roland</p>

very hard for a lot of their listeners to listen to them. </p><p>Not a sermon, just my thoughts.</p><p>chrisb </p>

Sorry you're losing them in your area but I'm so fucking happy. I used to listen to them down in Florida when they were The Ron and Ron Show. Then I had to move back to Michigan and that was it. Its going to suck that most of the old Florida crew is gone, Ron Diaz, Billy the Phone Freak, and Fast Freddy but it will be good to hear Ron and Fez again. Is Ron still doing Standup? Is Fez still acting gay?

I have been on XM radio longer than Ron and Fez.I am the voice that
sings the intro to the old Opie and Anthony theme song "Ecstasy of
Gold" featuring a "female" operatic voice, and backing male voices as
chorus.I performed the voices on 4 track tascam Spring of 1987
acapella.I lengthened the original 1960's version by almost a full
minute. The Orchestra was added later, and I have no info on how it was
done.I also scat sang the Yo Yo Ma version as a warm-up excercise for
doing the female vocal version.Jerry j.lehane@verizon.net<br />

And stop with the lame fucking Cable TV argument. Hey, guess what. I have cable, and just cable. Basic Cable is already a dinosaur. I won't be getting digital or sattelite because TV sucks too. I haven't watched it regularly in years, and I haven't tuned in for more than the weather in months.

how does that have anything to do with arguing that people pay for
cable. I wasnt sayin you should or its better, i was saying paying for
TV is no different then paying for radio, regardless if you watch it or
not<br />

Exactly. it sounded silly to pay for something you got for free, but then you realized the value in paying for it compared to what you got for free. It becomes even easier when something pulls you in that direction (like a specific show)

<p>This entire forum is pissing me off. </p><p>We've got people complaining about the timeslot.</p><p>We've got people complaining about the cost.</p><p>We've got people complaining about the replays.</p><p>We've got people complaining about losing them on free radio in DC.</p><p>I am infuriated beyond belief. I really am. </p><p>Ever since August of 2002, a huge hole was cut into my entertainment. I love radio with all my heart. I listen to all kinds of radio. And I loved the O&A show and the R&F show.</p><p>It hasn't been the same for over THREE YEARS. And now, finally, the pieces are falling into place - for a lot of fans to be "whole" again - to enjoy their shows - and I just see this crap.</p><p>I'm sick of it. I really am. </p><p> </p><p>You people talk about the "worst mistake they could have made." What you don't get is that the XM Nation is actually a bigger market than DC and it's growing every day. </p><p> </p><p>You complain about the callers. Are you kidding me? The DC callers were not that great. It was one of the problems with the DC version of the show. And I'm not trying to make this into a DC vs. New York war - that's just the way it is.</p><p>The callers on the O&A XM show have SUCKED and have been nowhere near as funny as they were back in the WNEW days, but they have definitely improved since the start of the show.</p><p>But you wanna know what? I actually think the XM callers might be better than the DC callers, because O&A have already trained them well. And... as an added bonus - the O&A zombies who can't get into Ron and Fez's show WON'T CALL, which will probably create a tighter, more focused show than O&A's.</p>

What's funny to me as a listener is how the caller gets abused by the
intern/phone answerers when the job of PHONES sucks so bad ,and it
comes thru in their voices.I've been hung up on by Gary
Dellabate, wonderboy,Jdubbs,(only Giant Brian didn't hang up on
me),Beniccio,Stuttering John, and other shows I never got thru are
George Noory/Art Bell. My best calls were to Jim Bohannon and Larry
King, long ago.I heard later that Gary played me hours later while I
SNORED and was paying LONG DISTANCE on hold as a gag,so they all got a
laugh. I got a laugh, though getting back at him by
GHOSTWRITING/cassette tape sent to Jackie Jokeman..that Gary MUST wear
a GORILLA suit, which he found uncomfortable, sweaty under hot
lights, and he had to sing a little rap song called "Do the Baba Booey"
which they did on Pay Per View ages ago. When I saw it I about
died. <br />

THEY SIGNED CONTRACTS! Its OVER JOHNNY! There will be no more free R&F. So stop bashing people because you are pissed off. </p><p>You get NOTHING, you lose! <p>either way, don't like it, don't pay for it. don't ask for details.</p><p>entertainment wise, my XM has been the best money i've ever spent. (bar bills excluded) and most likely R&F have a similar contract as O&A anyway. which means they can syndicate to outside radio. like (hate to use the cable reference)sex in the city is syndicated to TBS (but edited for commercial breaks and content.)</p><p>paying for entertainment is silly, but we all do it. it's just how you decide to use it. </p>

<p>They opted to go with an esoteric programming system that a very small amount of the listening audience is subscribed to. They will get another fan base but it leaves the people who will not subscribe to XM without their favorite show. No one will do XM just for Ron and Fez except for the handful of you who want to throw away their money for radio you have to pay for (lame).</p><p>=</p><p>This is a precise and exact description of HBO; began in 1972, did not turn a profit until 1977, and people in droves said well, read above folks...</p><p>Pay for TV ?! It's already free! Look! [stands up... click, click, click... we got 2,4,5,7,9,11, AND 13] Free!</p><p>There was a time HBO dreamt of 4 million subscribers.</p><p>It will be bumpy, there will be changes, but the new technology is here, and if you don't think people will pay for radio, get in the line of people who wont pay for TV. </p><p>Sorry, Guglielmo. And realize your screename was for one of the inventors of radio; seen as a toy, a novelty, when introduced. Nice, but who the hell would need one? Faraday showing early experiments with Electricity, was seen as a parlor-magician, and this 'electricity' thing was a cool party trick, but even the Queen asked, 'of what possible use could this have'?</p><p>A portable Music player that stores songs at a *lesser* quality then CD? You'd be insane to want one of those!</p><p>A computer in a person's *home*? What the hell does anyone need a computer for at home?</p><p>=</p><p>The echoes still ring out of all the naysayers of new technology, but they're tough to hear with all the new technology.</p>

Wow. That is the furthest thing
from the truth. Opie and Anthony have
ruined commercial talk radio for me. Being
able to listen for hours with only minimal commercial breaks makes it hard to
listen to regular talk radio, 15 minute commercial breaks? Forget that. </p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">As for the music stations, sure, maybe more then half of it
I wont listen to on a regular basis but that still leaves me at least 50
stations. I have my SkyFi’s presets
totally filled up, so that’s 30 stations right there. Being able to listen to whatever type of music I want to at any
time of the day is wonderful. Driving
around with out XM leaves me with what, 4 or 5 stations in any given area? And even with those stations they all hit
commercials at the same time forcing me to just spin through the dial hearing
nothing at all.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><!--[if !supportEmptyParas]--> <!--[endif]--></p>
Gah. XM is the
way to go. Hell, Sirius is the way to
go. Anything but over the air radio.

And... as an added bonus - the O&A zombies who can't get into Ron and Fez's show WON'T CALL, which will probably create a tighter, more focused show than O&A's.</p><p>Make up your mind, Matty. You are furious over complaints on ronfez.net, but then you complain that wackbag will ban you if you complain. This is a forum - people have the right to bitch about the timeslot, the cost. the replays, about losing them on free radio in DC. Personally I'm "infuriated beyoned belief" by assholes whose only response to people who have lost their favorite show is "DEAL WITH IT" or then post pictures of cheese to go with their wine. You would think that fans from WNEW would have a little bit of empathy - for over five years Ron and Fez have been part of the night time radio here in Washington - longer than in New York. It is a huge shock to the system. </p><p>LET PEOPLE WORK IT OUT! </p><p>Jesus H. Christ. It doesn't take away from the fact that you have XM, or that you enjoy Opie and Anthony, or that you will get to listen to Ron and Fez again, while others have to weigh that decision. The trashing of people who come on here and honestly say that making the jump to XM is not something they think they can do IS NOT GOING TO MAKE THEM WANT TO GO TO XM! Telling people how stupid they are, or bringing up the cable television analogy, etc just doesn't work. </p><p>And for the record, before anyone gets upset thinking I'm talking about them, I know that most of the WNEW era fans do empathize and understand with what WJFK fans are going through. If anyone does, they do. And yes - I know that most people have XM have talked mostly about how it has changed their lives and haven't attacked anyone. This is about a vocal minority who are somehow taking it personally that someone disagrees with them about this.</p>

Actually Reefdweller you are way off base because when you guys lost the show things were immediately set-up so that the NY fans could get the show through double-secret means and in fact the DC fans have had to put up with more of the crap then anything else for instance constantly being told how poor of callers we were, and how the boys don't have the energy to do the show since they had to be in DC. This is ridiculous, and i think curtoid has very very valid points about this

I agree with K1. I do remember a lot of support and sympathy from the DC board folk. The reason it might not have seemed as large as you would have hoped is because, well, comparably, there weren't that many DC folks on the board at that time. The board was (and frankly still is) a predominantly NY-based board, and R&F had only been live on WJFK in the evenings for less than 4 months when they were bumped from WNEW. Frankly, the DC folks had to bear the brunt of a lot of sour grapes from a vocal NY contingent (callers suck, the area sucks, the show isn't as good, etc.).

<p>I'm talking about a legal means. I'm not talking about the SU. </p><p>For people who wanted to hear the show in their cars and on buses, the train or whatever<br />that luxury was taken away. You gotta remember that people like myself who liked both R&F and O&A lost two shows, so it was especially hard. We had to deal with it so I don't think I'm off base. However I myself never said for people to deal with it. If anything I've commented about how I can understand how people feel and I have compassion for their feelings, however I had to deal with losing the show, and others will as well. The difference is that everyone now has the option legally to hear the show.</p>

<p>Now I have a good reason to get an XM system. Shame to hear that O & A appear to be one trick ponies based on some of the posts here, and that the massive amount of commercials are back, odd for a service you're paying for. I was hoping that R & F would be Stern's terrestrial radio replacements, but am glad they'll be back nonetheless for me to hear easily even if I have to pay for it. They're the only show going into satellite with a structure and plan to make the most out of what the new format offers. Stern's going to falter because once only his hardcore fans switch over to Sirrus, he'll see his following isn't as big as he thinks it is. You'd think he would have considered that when examining his movie returns. Odd indeed.</p><p> </p><p>Great news at any rate. Hearing them on WNEW as the only ones left on the sinking ship was great radio. The bastards didn't even give them a proper farewell show, so regular radio just blows and will continue to implode. </p>

Total time ~3 minutes Loads of commercials i know gosh! The people crying about commercials do not even have the service so take their word for it. </p>

The only stations that have alot of commercials are the terrestrial type stations that dual cast with both satelite and traditional AM/FM and those are like ESPN Radio (damn now i have to pick between Dan Patrick's show and R&F), FOX Sports Radio, Channel 21 which is like LA Kiss or something and the news stations everything else is limited. However, after about a year of having XM i noticed they were playing more commercials and emailed them apparently a lot of people with XM complained and they removed commercials from a lot fo the strictly XM stations. The one good thing about XM is since you pay for it you are the consumer and your gripes are looked at more serious in comparison to regular radio which could care less where you go
