I can't believe it.My wife just bought a brand new Dell 9100.  We took it out of the box 15 mins ago, set it up, and it said "you are eligible for a free 30 day XM subsription".The first thing I did was fill out the online form, click to listen, and I heard Fezzy screaming. Time 11am exactly. Could not have planned it any better if I tried.Wow.

In Florida, on Fez's other show Hooters on the Radio, they had a regular caller who was blind who they called Blind Don. I have audio from when when Ron sat in and that guy called and it was hysterical.

yea Fez is booming, but his voice usally cuts through me, so I am abad judge. I just know I can NEVER hear Jim Norton or any guest on the O&A show without my volume all the way up. then they play a clip or Opie laughs and basically makes my ears bleed.

the slow start, or the repeating OA commercials!  They're back on
the air for fuck's sake!  Especially for us NY'ers, how dare we
complain when we can listen to the boys again like the good old
days.  For a long while it was tough listening to them while they
were in DC, now we can hear them again and people are complaining about
the littlest things, I just don't get it.  Sit back and enjoy them

XM Online works 1/2 the time at work, but I share an office and my officemate is not interested in hearing talk radio all day... I'm new to Ron and Fez -- live in the hinterlands of Columbus, OH.  Wow, they truly started off slow, but the last hour, hour and a half have been pretty good.  You can tell they are finding their rhythm for XM.  I never heard the first few months of O&A (my favorite four hours of the day), but I can imagine it took them a while to get things clicking too.  I'll continue listening to see how the show develops.

They were doing the same type of programming BS on WJFK for years.Someone explain the "Fastest hour in radio" idea to me.  They used to come all the way in and do that live before they started taping it the night before.That is a waste.

I was really hoping it was just because it was crowded, and they were busy, but hearing the show today it sounded like the absolute wrong move. Still, it was great to talk with him - he is such a nice guy, with a really kind soul. A lot of the fans of the show enjoyed seeing him. I would love to see the two of them make up, but it really sounds like it has to be Fez's call - with the exception of the call in about Billy's play a few months ago, nothing has gone right.

AHHH [edit - Matty went "long story short" something I've never learned] - It's all about birthdays. Earlier this year, Mikey D.'s birthday came at a difficult time for Fez, and he forgot it. A month later, when Mikey D. called in on Fez's birthday (after 4 hours of Fez drinking), Fezzie went off about how Mikey never let Fez off the hook for forgetting the birthday and it pissed him off. To put it in context - this interaction happened just  days after Fez's grandmother had died, and Fez had to leave his family, who were all grieving, and return to the show. We also learned Friday that Fez was also stressed because of the contract things with WJFK, and all the calls he was getting at that time had to do with his grandmother or the contract. The phone call melted down Fez. In the days, and weeks and months later, whenever Mikey tried to make up, or do his side, things seemed to get worse. Ron tried to help bridge the gap, but almost always there was something new that didn't sit right with Fezzie. ~ Almost all of it is in the file library, going back to March. If the actual meltdown isn't there, someone did a song about it "The Call That Melted Fezzie Down" that covers that. ~ Right up until the last week on WJFK, they Mikey tried to heal the wounds. ~ Hope that covered it all and helped.

I have a feeling the fact that they are still talking about it, its ripe for an upcoming bit, albeit the old Al Dukes stuff. If there was no interest and just anger about the Mikey D stuff, I think it just wouldn't be mentioned. Anything mentioned on the show is usually food for fodder. I loved the first XM show. Im very happy to have them back. I have no doubt the show will continue its greatness and they will win manynew fans following O&A just as they did before.

All I want to add here is that there's real life and there's radio. From what I know, it seems that Fez has some real bad feelings between him and Mikey D, but please don't judge Mikey's call in at face value.  There are real feelings, and there are things that happen on radio.  I am still of the mind set that Fez might have REAL feelings about this, but that a misunderstanding is at the center of this whole thing, and that if Fez will talk to Mikey D, they'll be fast friends again.Just one man's opinion.

[/quote] When this was all going down, no one wanted to get involved with an opinon, even off the air when Ron would ask. I think that's because in the back of everyone's mind there was an assumption that they would eventually find a way to make up. Just too much history there. ~ The longer this goes on, though, the worse feeling i get about it ever resolving.

I signed up for the free 3 day trial yesterday just to hear R and F, and I can say that in 1 day XM has ruined the regular radio for me.The regular radio where i live sucks anyway so it wasnt that hard but still its a great service.The only thing that i miss is some of the NPR programing but there are other ways to get that. The music channels really are good. I will most likely get the kit this weekend.

As a guy who listened to the old Ron and Ron show when they sindicated to Pensacola's New Rock 107point3.  (which was shortlived and is now an oldies station.. THANKS CLEAR CHANNEL),   I'm loving the ability to listen to Ron and Fez for the first time since 1996 or 7. Some bits are funny, but some bits aren't.. that's the way it goes.. but overall thank god i've got more to listen to.

I've listened to the first half of today's show, and so far I have to say I like this one significantly more than yesterday's.  I'm not sure what it was -- maybe it was the rhythm of the show -- but I found a lot to laugh at.As for the questions about the frequency of listening threads, a daily thread like Wackbag doesn't really make sense, because our listening threads don't get freakishly large in a day like the Wackbag ones do.  For now, I'll start a stickied thread every Sunday or Monday for that week's shows, and we'll see how that works.
