It is my current workplace that I have been at for 8 years, I hate it! The place is filthy (due in part to the person whose position I am seeking.) I have been underpaid in my last position(5.00/hr), and am a little afraid of getting fucked over.

I want the job kinda but I am afraid I will get fucked on pay. I am not good at negotiations, pay SHOULD BE: 32,000. I know they will try 20,000. or less

Interview on Monday

Any suggestions?

If I wanted to hear you moan, I would've Fucked You!

"I want the job kinda" For that money, I would find something you love to do and do it. The money will come in time. If that does'nt work, tell Kathy Lee Gifford to go fuck herself.

You will make yourself and your friends miserable if you stay at a place you hate - even if the job is better - but especially at that pay. Don't leave until you have something else lined up, and maybe the new position will look better to a potential employer, but definately keep looking for the job AND the employer you want, even if you make the pull on this one.

I'd rather have hope in my soul than soap in my hole...

It's not a negotiation if you come there with nothing to bargain with. Maybe in the time between now and the interview, write down all of the skills/attributes you can bring to the new position which will help you bargain for the jump in pay you are after. $32K works out to ~$15/hr (32K/(40x52)) maybe a little less per year. That's a lot to ask for in one bump. This is all if you want the job.
If you hate the place, maybe set a resolution for 2006 to find a new job or resolve to go to school to get the skills required for a better job. Sometimes you have to move on to get a raise in pay. Agree with curt, don't leave until you have a new job securely lined up. Goo luck.

I applied for a job that would be parallel and linked to my current position. a few more hours but alot, theoretically, more $$. I have the facts and figures of the same position at local areas, plus I think I get benefits.

Seasonal part-time or not, you still have to make the minimum wage. That's why it's called "minmum wage".
Not for nothing, but you should really look into finding another line of work. You can't live in NJ on 32k. You can put a sentence together and you have a good work ethic -- there are plenty of employers out there that would kill for that. Take the plunge and get the fuck out. If you do it because it's something you love, find something else you love.
