i HATE the fucking holidays!!

I really find nothing enjoyable at this time of year.&nbsp; I find it extremely stressful and inconvienient and cant wait for them to be over.&nbsp; I hate the gatherings and the gift buying and giving and getting, I hate dressing up and seeing people I only see once a year.&nbsp; All the stores and anywhere near the malls are packed with people and it just seems so phoney to me.&nbsp; People only want to talk about stuff they &quot;get&quot; and it is so superficial and fake.&nbsp; <br />Does anyone else hate this time of year?

<p>This time of year is only commercial and fake if you let it become that.&nbsp; I LOVE Christmas because I enjoy getting things for the people in my life and making them happy.</p><p>The only part I hate about this season is it reminds you you're alone if you are alone like NO OTHER TIME OF YEAR.&nbsp; Forget Valenties day, forget Spring Break time, forget it all.&nbsp; Christmas.&nbsp; I have no question in my mind why someone would wait until Christmas to off themselves if they're in the market to.&nbsp; Being alone at Christmas is about the worst feeling you can have.&nbsp; No matter how many happy people you surround yourself with, theres always that one point where you're alone, sitting there, thinking...</p><p>Hate it.</p>

<p>i dont hate the holidays themselves but i hate the chaos that is caused by them, all the extra traffic, force fed tv commercials, religious themed events, etc.</p><p>i dont need all this corporate and commercial bullshit that now goes hand in hand with all the holidays, they have lost their meaning</p><p>christmas, thanksgiving, easter, and all the made up holidays like mother and fathers day, valentines day, etc are now devoid of their original intentions and are merely hallmark holidays, ones were we are now forced to buy cards and presents or else fear the repercussions of not doing so by family members or loved ones, or not receiving gifts </p>

<p>We celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah.&nbsp; This year the first night of Hanukkah is the 25th.&nbsp; So instead of making myself nuts trying to do everything I always do for both I've scaled back.&nbsp; I usually&nbsp; bake five different kinds christmas cookies, make fudge etc.&nbsp; This year I bought everything.&nbsp; We'll spend Christmas Eve&nbsp;at my folks and drive back tomorrow&nbsp;and make something simple for dinner plus&nbsp;latkes&nbsp;and light the candles.&nbsp; </p>

<p>Thinking back as a kid I remember the holidays being almost magical. Seeing Christmas lights on every street made my heart race, because I know that special time of year was near. It's Christmas time and everything was right in the world. I've felt this feeling for 28 years. This year that feeling was gone. I really had no feelings for Christmas. It felt like just another day. Yeah it was really nice spending time with my family. I appreciate the fact that it gave us a reason to be together, but honestly, it wasnt very special. It sucks to feel this way. I see others that have that &quot;christmas spirit&quot; and I get jealous. The young kids in my family talking about santa and wondering what he'll bring. I'm jealous of that.
