If they have the buttonhole, you look like a douche if you don't button it.

I was the guy that never buttoned them till I moved to a new office and it was pointed out to me. Now Im wondering why they even have buttons if they arent meant to be unbuttoned? Whats the point on a casual shirt? Its not like anyone would wear a tie with it, right? Needless to say, I button them now.

You forgot

3-Don't buy them

thank you ...

no need to be that guy ... they never look good and really ruin any aesthetic with wearing a nice suit ...

it's a real dated, met fan / white sneakers and jeans look ... very 90s jerry seinfeld

but as a general rule of thumb -- if it has a hole then button it (except the top button without a tie, and on a polo shirt)
