Wait... Wasn't Einstein a Jew? So let me get this straight. Even though the Bible says that the Jews are the chosen people, he ignores it. On top of that, he said he would have saved Jesus, therefore ruining Christianity before it ever started. Is there ANY part of the Bible he believes? I mean... aside from the part that said there were dinosaurs on Noah's arc. The Bible did say that, right?:wallbash:

Today is going to be INTERESTING. Lilly was on O&A and talked about the photo shoot. Apparently she was acting very sexy and trying to goad Earl, but he didn't respond in any way.
They are going to COMPLETELY rail him for being gay. Earl is going to get all frustrated, yell into the mic (again), and either storm out or attack Dave.

What is the Difference Between a Pathological, a Compulsive, a Chronic, and a Habitual Liar?
Pathological Liar -
A pathological liar is usually defined as someone who lies incessantly to get their way and does so with little concern for others. Pathological lying is often viewed as coping mechanism developed in early childhood and it is often associated with some other type of mental health disorder. A pathological liar is often goal-oriented (i.e., lying is focused - it is done to get one's way). Pathological liars have little regard or respect for the rights and feelings of others. A pathological liar often comes across as being manipulative, cunning and self-centered.
Compulsive Liar -
A compulsive liar is defined as someone who lies out of habit. Lying is their normal and reflexive way of responding to questions. Compulsive liars bend the truth about everything, large and small. For a compulsive liar, telling the truth is very awkward and uncomfortable while lying feels right. Compulsive lying is usually thought to develop in early childhood, due to being placed in an environment where lying was necessary. For the most part, compulsive liars are not overly manipulative and cunning (see, Pathological Liar), rather they simply lie out of habit - an automatic response which is hard to break and one that takes its toll on a relationship.

once upon a time, there was a very old DJ named Scott Muni. One day, in a drunken rage, he thrashed his producer to death with a bronze bust of John Lennon. A young receptionist named named Earl Douglas was thrown into the producer job as an emergency measure. since producing Muni's show involved little more than playing the occasional commercial breaks, Earl did an acceptable job.
many, many, many years later, that young receptionist-turned-producer is still capable of playing commercial breaks (and little else).
THE END.
Boomer
04-16-2008, 06:39 PM
Earl's complete and utter incompetence at doing his job was proven today beyond any reasonable point of arguing. He was asked to do his job and produce 3 things for the show. The first two were at the level of someone who just started as an intern. His commercial for Audable.com was piss poor and boring, his Kids in the Hall promotion was horrible because he played the audio from a visual joke and was done by the two members that are not coming to the show. The third wasn’t even close to being finished.
These are his job tasks and all he did was prove that he cannot do his job. Failing at the picture taking task just proved that he sucked at his hobby. This one proved he sucked at his job!
If this isn’t a bit for the show with Earl faking his incompetence, he really needs to be jettisoned from the show. There are people there right now that are not being paid and they do Earl’s job 1000 times better than he can.
Making fun of Earl’s failures used to be funny. Today's show crossed the line and it’s now pathetic. Pull the plug Fezzy!!!
OK..bitch fest over.

I kind of felt the same way. However, the pieces were genuinely not very good at all, worse than the photo challenge, which I kind of forgave his performance on since he's only an amateur photographer. They would have been lying if they'd told him he did well. It's probably just that constructive criticism doesn't make for all that entertaining a radio program.
I still keep rooting for poor Faildozer, even if it's just because he's such an underdog!

it was the implication that after seeing earl, you would realize it would be icky to consider touching him, even for earl himself, which is a ridiculous supposition. the bolding is used in this instance to emphasize the word in text as it would be in the spoken word. technically, it would be more accurate to use italics, but it is a conscious decision made by myself (and others) due to the sub-standard quality of the italics text on the site.

I think Earl's conduct today was Beanie Cup worthy. Normally he gets a little sullen and defensive when he faildozes (understandably, nobody really feels good when they fail). Sure, he made excuses, but he didn't get all hangdoggy. The photo shoot was pretty terrible, yeah, but I say, good for him. I wonder if Earl is pulling some kind of "I'm different than most people, no one understands me, I'm just a lone horseman riding into the sun on my own" type of romantic, self-serving horsheshit that regular people get over by age 20? The whole wardrobe thing seems like something else that he is holding on to from his childhood. I think he got pulled over in the airport because he acts so friggin weird and awkward. Earl, the sooner you accept that you are just a regular person, the more laying you will be having.

I don't usually comment on the show members, whether I like them or not, are they gay, are they alchoholics, etc. but Earl strikes a chord with me. How many people would kill to have the oppotunities that Earl has been given and done nothing with? granted, you should be proud to be the producer of the Ron and Fez show, but this should not be a position that you fill out like caulking and stop the flow of talented people through it. Earl's lack of effort really makes me sick. this was really driven home by Mooch's presence in the studio, I distinctly remember him saying that he had nothing going for him back in N. Ireland...for fucks sake he would (did!!!!) excel as a producer in that studio, and I beleive that he earned the right to that position and the opportunites that it lays out (the ones that Earl seems to not even be aware of!).

Earl cares more about keeping his job and getting a steady paycheck than he does about the show and its quality. If he cared about the show he would step down to a lower position, ask for a transfer to another XM station, or (as a last resort) quit and find another job. I'm not saying to destroy the guy's livelihood, but Earl is not an asset to the Ron & Fez show (regardless of if he is a nice guy IRL).

As much as I can't stand ESD....he is like a radio trainwreck. So awful but I can't look away and his stupidity is hilarious. Earl amazes me that he can keep a job. He seems to do nothing and brings that to the show. Any time anyone tells a story about him he immediately calls them a liar and then is proven to be a liar. I have no doubt that he is just a creepy stalker and hopefully soon, he'll do something so creepy and stupid that Wickie will have to fire him.:drunk:
When Fez is off show, it is obvious.
When ESD is not in, it is obvious.
When Mooch left, it was obvious.
When Hicks is not in, you can tell.
What does Earl do?
He has been their producer for years, and I bet Mooch did more production work, as an unpaid guest, than Earl has in the years he has worked for them.
Fire Earl.

Earl returned Peachy's call at 1:30am Monday. What was Earl doing up to that point on Sunday? What time did Peachy call that he felt it acceptable to call back at 1:30am?
He is a pathological liar. He tries to give vague answers hoping he won't be pressed out of a feeling of pity or frustration.
I would love to hear one of the conversations Ron has with Earl where Earl can actually carry and dominate the conversation.

I think this might be one of my favorite side-moments of Ron and Fez. Ron was reading words in other languages that mean something that we don't have a word for in our language, and Fez, Earl and Dave were trying to guess what each word meant. Every guess that Earl had was one word, even though they were single words in other languages that English doesn't have. Every single guess was one word.
..... Ron was reading words in other languages that mean something that we don't have a word for in our language, and Fez, Earl and Dave were trying to guess what each word meant. ....
From that show on Thursday:
Ron - Here is one for you Earl...... the word is keyamahata
Earl - Ummmmmm, I will say it means black man ??
Yeah sure Earl we don't have a word for that in English .
Wait until Monday, when Earl has to explain to Ron why the Thanksgiving show ran on Friday instead of Mooch's "Song Origins" show.
It'll be a meltdown of epic proportions.

Earl is out of his mind. It is so funny listening to him call into the WJFK shows, and even back then he would bring the show to a grinding halt. There was actually confidence in his voice those days though, now he's a giant mess.
His turtle maneuver to avoid conflict is hilarious. Dave's line was of course fantastic, but I really loved when Dave said Scottso was in hell. I laughed so hard.
Earl is only good on the show if they discuss music or movies, otherwise he's bad. Unfortunately those are the 2 topics where Fez is weak in, music especially. The only thing that made me feel better was hearing that he doesn't even make 60k a year. Even though his job is a million times better than mine at least I make more than the guy. Although since he only works 3 hours a day it probably averages out to more hourly. :(
I have no radio experience and a crippling fear of public speaking, and yet I could easily do Earl's job. He has the best fucking job in the world. A producer for the best show in radio, and he can't do ANYTHING. Ron doesn't even expect him to be funny. Just be interesting when you're on the air, and keep shit organized off the air. Every now and then try to throw in a music cue, but no. He can't even do it. Ugh.
Great show today though.
The most fascinating thing about Earl is how he lies when he doesn't have to. It's uncanny. He'll start stumbling and mumbling and EVERYONE knows he's lying yet he persists.

Maybe the reason Earl is acting so strangely is because Scott Muni infused Earl with his spirit via Vulcan mind meld before he died, a la Star Trek 2 and 3. He is suffering from the same symptoms as Dr. McCoy - "Remember!" - and the only thing that will cure this is launching Muni's corpse onto a regenerating planet, waiting for Scottso to age rapidly, and then performing a ceremony wherein Muni's spirit is transferred back into his body from Earl. It's that simple.

Soon after that I wrote to him to see if I could stop by the show. He responded quickly and was very helpful. I didn't experience any of that social awkwardness they were taking about on the show.
I cannot think of anyone else on the show that would have refused Ron's demand for their phone as long as Earl did. Does he feel that secure in his position or was he just more terrified that Ron would read some of his text aloud?

Again. I must place some blame on Ron. He got the phone from Earl. He could have asked Earl's permission to look at the call history. It would show the time and the length of the calls Earl claimed to "not" make that night.

Once a lot of people know, they can't, under any circumstances admit they lied or were joking or made a mistake because they feel the response of people being disappointed in them will hurt more than any lie they could ever tell. It's childish. It's pathetic.
I vote that we change the name of this thread to "Black Earl is Childish and Pathetic"

Can we impeach him?
For all the people who think Earl is so "invaluable" being a thorn in the side to the show, I hope you were paying close attention today.
There's a big difference between being a buffoon and a cancer.

This MUST be the LAST STRAW Today.
What a complete and utter fucking mess Earl has gotten everyone into.
Earl.
Dead to me in '09.
Yep, that's the way I feel too. I hope something will actually happen this time and Earl isn't allowed to hang around and continue to drag the show down.

Said it before, saying it again. FUCK EARL. And I hope all the people that defended Earl will now admit they were wrong. Earl is a piece of shit that hurts the show.
FIRE EARL. HIRE MOOCH!
And as for Earl being unable to speak or think for a good 7 minutes after he was supposedly unconscious - BULLSHIT.
I played and coached hockey for 20 years and was involved in many different martial arts for a long time. I've seen dozens of guys get knocked out. Not once have I seen anyone get amnesia or lose their ability to talk.
You would think that after 20 years in radio that he would be able to adopt at least some sort of a radio personality.

I think it was a ploy to get Fez to talk. Earl said no one could go 36 hours or 3 days(you do the crazy Earl math) without talking. He couldn't stand to be wron again.:nono:

Welcome to the board, fellow Cubs fan!
I think an extended stay at Four Winds is the only way Earl is going to make this present situation right.
It's about time he admitted to Ron and Fez (and most importantly, himself) that there are some deep rooted psychological issues that are causing his "brain clouds" and it's nothing physical.

looks more like his fainting is the result of a panic attack. as funny as the video is, it was probably the worst you can do to a person in that situation.
he may be mentally unstable in the sense of having anxiety and panic disorders

I know it's fun and pretty easy to shit on Earl and wish him good riddance, but I have to disagree with the general consensus that it's great he's gone and that he was radio cancer. New Lily was radio cancer regardless of R&F's best efforts to work with her or what GAZ tells you is funny; Earl on the other hand was easily radio gold, especially during those times cited by the venerable Mr.Gvac as his moments of 'instability'.
It was always fun to hear Earl fuck up, though I've fucking been furious with the bastard plenty o' times such as his fucking up of the Ronnie Vs. Lee Abrams call or the recent fainting goat bit. The guy couldn't handle pressure, and it made for fucking hilarious content plenty of the time.
Anyway, as Gaz has predicted, I will in the future be saying "Wah Wah Earl should have been on the show still Wah Wah"- or not. But I certainly liked Mr.Douglas and think there's plenty of worse guys who coulda been on the show. I'll miss him myself.
That said the guy up and fucking quit on the Ron and Fez show and shouldn't be allowed back because he's a fucking quitter.

Dr Steve? alluded to issues that Earl had not addressed which need medical attention during a O&A discussion which also included Big A's health.
I hope Earl gets the treatment he needs.

Do they even perform lobotomies anymore?
From the little I've been able to piece together, Earl quit the Ron and Fez show but wanted to remain as the producer of "Ron Bennington Interviews." He was subsequently informed by the suits that this was not possible, as they did not want an employee that only worked one hour per week.
It sounds like he's trying to wiggle his way back onto the show now that he realizes what a rash and foolish decision he made with his surprise resignation last week.
I think he should be forced to undergo a battery of physiological and psychological tests before being brought back.

There was no problem but Earl is no longer an employee so he could be a security risk in the eyes of SiriusXM radio, who are playing on the side of caution. If he were hostile it could be ugly, but really Earl just misses work and one side of him can't let go.Ron is working with Earl on side projects so no animosity there, but a friendly helping relationship. http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a65/j3lehane/BigGrapefruitSizedHeadSnakeBodyEmer.jpg A NEW Earl Douglass will emerge like a fiery phoenix and spread his wings and fly !
