Then he had a meeting with HR to see if he still had a job.

He was subsequently told that he did not; he tendered a resignation and it was accepted.

He then shows up to the studio today to do side work.

I really don't know what I have to do to show you all that this thread was not started as a joke; Earl is an honest to goodness lunatic and even though he's not a violent guy I really feel it's only a matter of time before he snaps.

:dry: I suppose most of us got a kick out of Earl's bits , and Ron's constant bitching at Earl, and the Earl-bashing was just part of the show.
This week it's been quite a change, as Deb has stepped up with viewpoints and laughs ; it's a good show with HTG there, as a caller said, as the mother hen to keep the boys straight, sorta.
So now I believe it's not "a work",and Earl is done. I hope he comes back.

When Earl was on air, I used to get pissed off trying to figure out how he kept a job. I know we're only hearing what the guys want us to hear, but Earl seemed like a genuine fuck-up and incompetent.

Anyone who listened to the show could realize Earl was mentally unstable, but quitting the show in this manner is bizarre, even for Earl. Who in their right mind thinks, "I will simply withdraw from the 95% of my job that I'm uncomfortable with, but I'll stick around to book one or two guests a week." Maybe Earl believed the hype that he doesn't need to work now that Obama is in office, or maybe he really did hit his head that day in the O&A studio. Either way, I will miss it when the boys would pile on him and Earl's voice would get high pitched as he tried to lie his way out of a situation.

I liked Earl as a punching bag on the show, but when he tries to converse with Ron it's painful, other than music or movies.

One of the most frustrating things about Earl, is that he gets a line, and beats it to fucking death. How many times is he going to say to Ron that almost, or did, take a knee at one of his jokes.

Ron mentioned that one time on the air and now every time he calls I have to hear Earl use it again.

That moment made me laugh.
The author's objective is to EXPLAIN a topic to the reader. Earl can not even explain why he was late for a 12:30 appointment, "apartment things?" What the fuck is "apartment things?"

He has been out of work for 10 months, but he has to call his dad, call a friend, and do "apartment things" on one of the few days Ron wants him in the studio. Fuck. Opportunity was wasted on Earl.
