<img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y245/njdmmoe/2CDs.gif" border="0" />This is AT LEAST the 2nd time I've done this.  I buy 2 copies of the same CD.  I guess I lose the 1st copy for a long time in the piles of CDs I have, so I just pick up another copy cheap when I see it.  I did the exact same thing with Alice In Chains's UNPLUGGED CD.  Anyone else do this?  Waste O' money.

While going through my DVD's, I noticed I have 2 copies of Baseketball.  I did'nt even un-wrap the first one!

I have two copies of the Repo Man soundtrack.

I have @ 6,000 CDs & I do it all the time, dammit!!! I even have my collection listed on my Treo & I still do it!!!

No, never.              Only kidding.  There are several I have duplicated.  Mostly they were CD's I put in a "safe place" so my ex-wife wouldn't take them when she was packing stuff up, but I forgot where I put them.  I thought she found them and took 'em, but after about 2 years I found them hidden in the back of a closet.  A lot of good stuff like Pearl Jam, Alice-in-Chains, early Metallica, other stuff I didn't want to loose.  Oh well...

Very true.  At least two copies of the Repo Man soundtrack and at least one copy of the Repo Man DVD.

this happened to me recently.   i thought my sister borrowed some cds and i never got some back, so i ended up buying another bob marley cd.  As i was packing i found the original one. so now i have 2

i do it constantly but only because i have a nasty habit of getting drunk and breaking, losing, or giving away cds. so i buy back ups of all of my cds.

It's not like I go looking for Grim Reaper when I go to Vintage but
just seeing that disc there makes me want it. I have both on cassette
and I'm sure it can't be all that much to get those gems on CD.
Especially if they are remastered. Not having a cassette player
in the car stinks. All the more reason to get a small portable one to
hook in through the Line-In inputs on my stereo. Nothing like taking
modern technology back a few steps. Why not an 8-Track player while
you're at it fluff? Gah!

I've done this more times than I care to admit.

It usually happens when a band re-releases all of their old albums, "digitally remastered" of course. I start replacing the collection by picking up one of the classic albums every time I'm in a music store and often lose track of which ones I've already replaced.

The bright side is that people are usually happy as hell when you give them a brand new still-in-the-plastic CD. No need to tell them why.

Like Gvac said; digitally remastered can getcha. I purchased A NIGHT AT THE OPERA about 9 or 10 times.8 track, record, tape, another tape, cd, GOLD cd, remastered import, remastered with bonus tracks, DVD audio, and 30th Anniversary two disc set.Same thing with THRILLER and HYSTERIA and probably one or two others.  But no...I've never accidentally purchased the same CD twice.
