I fucked it up real good Sunday night- its very swollen- and black and blue in the center of my palm to my thumb and hurts like hell. MY friends mother, who is a nurse took a look at it and says it looks like I fractured a bone.

The problem is I am currently 'temporary' status at my job and the permanent status might not take effect for a while, and I don't have medical coverage until then.

I guess I have to keep sucking it up and deal with it for a while, but can I do permanent damage by not doing anything about it? Could a doctor even do anything for something like this?

if you can get to Astoria, on Broadway btween 34 & 33rd Streets there is a doctors office that you can go to instead of the emergency room because you will be seen pretty quickly. No insurance is ok, the office visit costs $50-$60

surprisingly enough typing doesn't bother me too much. Its more at the base of my thumb- anything requiring me to grip/turn hurts like a bitch (turning on a lamp, starting a car). And being left handed, and this happening to my right hand, my auto erotic activities have not been affected, ya sick bastards.

And I don't have any insurance and I can't afford to go to the ER.

By law, Emergency room cannot refuse treatment, irrespective of ability to pay. You can work out payment later. Get to E.R. asap

I broke my hand on the weekend(punched a wall by accident)but had to pretend that I did it at work...So I went in for 2 days, and then said something happened...The x-ray tech. said that it looked like it started to heal already, and asked if I had broken it before...They gave me some ibuprofin 800(mine as well have given me fucking tic tacs)and a cheesey velcro brace, and put me on light duty....As long as you can stand the pain, and you keep it stabalized, especially while sleeping, there should be no problem...It actually healed stronger than what it was before....Good luck bro..
