I was just listening to the old clip from WJFK where Fez did the entire segment as Jan Brady. He just keeps going and going and references an unbelievable number of old Brady Bunch episodes. It just reinforces what we all know. Fez rules.

Fez Whatley as Jan Brady

I think even Death Metal Moe would chuckle at the Don and Mike show in which Mike and Fez got drunk on Absinthe and Fez uttered the immortal line to Don: "We have so much in common Don, we both have Batman tattoos and we both love your son Bart."

I also appreciated that Don would always plug Ron and Fez at the end of their show, telling listeners to stay tuned to "the best evening radio show in the America."

Hey Mikeyboy - On Cinco De Mayo next week can you post the Ron and Fez "El Zol" clip for newcomers to check out and enjoy?

KennethC wrote:
I think even Death Metal Moe would chuckle at the Don and Mike show in which Mike and Fez got drunk on Absinthe and Fez uttered the immortal line to Don: "We have so much in common Don, we both have Batman tattoos and we both love your son Bart."

That show was ridiculously funny, and that particular line (you forgot Fez & Don's love of football) just killed them.

"I thought you ran a tighter ship, Don..."

Don and Mike went on record as saying they were really going to miss R&F a lot because they felt that was really the only connection they had to anyone at the radio station. They felt the station really let R&F down. Since R&F keep their own confidences, I guess there's no way to really tell about how the shows felt about each other when they worked there together - but I do know that Don and Freda really did buy Fez an old school Tampa Bay bucs shirt that i don't think was ever mentioned on the air except after Freda died, and one time at Friday Night Lights someone got a cold shoulder when they came over simply to trash talk Mike O'Meara.

Mixed feelings about Don& Mike as broadcasters.Sure R&F were friends.D&M have good guys working for them. They are entertaining. On the down side the nature of ultra-competetive radio breeds Machiavelians who step on and torture some up-and comers, and in effect bury their careers in their market.(For a worst case scenario, look what Stern did to O&A) If I were Craig Coleman or Perrynoid I'd be laughing myself silly that the OGREs were taking a big fall from #8 to #15 since the bottom fell out when Stern left. I was most awakened to D&M's disgusting attitude toward LOCAL level musicians a few years ago. Their woman -bashing I find LOVABLE...and shame on me for laughing. The whole "ugly ,rich, fat American" was getting to me afterwhile, like another version of Rush,or the "HAVES" as opposed to the "Have-nots" in media who flaunt their hatred for lower scumbags/ the lowly "have-nots". Simultaneously torturing their own team members/underlings was very Stern-like,but without the comedy value in the case of D&M. I put them on the level of school bullies.Radio school bullies.

I would love to get my hands on some of the R & F / D & M crossovers and especially The Match Game.

Not completely off topic but a vent on Dona nd Mike:

Yes
when I started listening to Don and Mike in the WNEW days I pretty much
did not care for them and did not find them funny and then as they came
onto WYSP I would just find myself saying Bleech over and over again.
But they did grow on me in about 2 years time and I would always find
myself listening most times when I would be in Baltimore Washington.
Then it just got to the point when Ron and Fez were on WJFK I would
listen as much as I could. They were not necessarily funny but the show
was always entertaining. I still do not like Mikes impressions but I do
think it gives a certain charm to the show.

Now in the past year
with the death of Freda and hearing the very human and personal side of
Don, I am just a solid fan from here on out. Evry day last two weeks in
Northern Virginia and Baltimore was spent listening to Don and Mike in
the afternoons. Monday when they came on and goofed how CBS was giving
them exclusive rights to be on College Radio stations and Retirement
Communities was funny. Tuesday when Dona nd Mike really got into how
they felt about the whole CBS / O & A move, I was really hapy to
hear their honesty. How yes, Don was pissed it wasn't happening to them
but even though they have had their wars, so much has been put into
persepctive in his last year and Radio Wars are just pointless. Don and
Mike both spoke of the WNEW Wars with O & A and wished them well
and gave their blessings. I just thought that was really classy and
professional of them. They have their career and O & A have theirs.
Bottom line. Radio and its business is one thing. There is that whole
other spectrum of life out there that sometimes people seem to forget
in their quest to hate and throw harsh evil words at people just cause
they don't like what they do.

Also seeing the WUSA 9 interview
where Don opens up about Freda and his life since her passing was just
cool. Not hacky where he is bawling over the whole thing, but just a
cool thing to watch.

...and yes, of course, Fez does fucking rule!
