nice, Unhallowed gets more airtime.
Wolfmother is good, but a little too Led Zeppelin-ish for my taste. I'd like them better if they had more of an original sound. My fave new single that's out is "Skeleton Key" by Margot and & the Nuclear So & So's. They have TWO ampersands.
Throwing a bat at an umpire should get a life time ban as well as criminal charges pressed. If he threw a bat at someone on the street, he would be locked up. Why is it ok on a baseball field?
By Dave's logic, Roger Clemens should've been suspended for 2.5 years for throwing half a bat, plus a couple of months for it being pointy.

This would probably be one of the few situations where the player could be charged with assault because he is an official, not a player. He made a call on the field, and the batter didn't like it, so instead of walking off, he throws his bat at the official. Smart move on his part....

You see this between players all the time though. Pitcher nails batter in back, leg, arm, even head, with a fastball. Brawl ensues. Week suspension. Basketball, we've seen the same thing. If players from opposing teams attack each other, suspension from a few games. Attack someone in the crowd? Suspended for the rest of the season, with possible assault charges from those in the crowd. Hockey you see it all the fucking time. People ram the shit out of each other, but nothing is done. Unless of course, one of the guys gets REALLY BADLY HURT. Then someone has to be punished.

People pay to see fights.

Jocko Graves, a twelve-year-old African-American, sought to fight the
Redcoats, but Washington deemed him too young and ordered him to look
after the horses, asking Jocko to keep a lantern blazing along the
Delaware so the company would know where to return after battle.
Many hours later, Washington and his men returned to their horses who
were tied up to Graves, he had frozen to death with the lantern still
clenched in his fist. Washington was so moved by the young boy's
devotion to the revolutionary cause he commissioned a statue of the
"Faithful Groomsman" to stand in Graves's honor at the general's estate
in Mount Vernon.

By the time of the Civil War, these "Jocko" statues could be found on
plantations throughout the South: like the North Star that pointed
fleeing slaves to their freedom, the Jocko statues pointed to the safe
houses of the Underground Railroad.
Along the Mississippi River, a green ribbon tied to a statue's arm —
whether clandestinely or with the owner's knowledge — indicated safety;
a red ribbon meant danger. Thus these original lawn jockey statues
today fetch thousands of dollars as true artifacts of the Underground
Railroad that conducted so many African-American slaves to freedom.

The record for holding your breath without breathing pure oxygen is 8:58. If you used pure oxygen at any time, 2 hours prior to holding your breath, the record is like 15 minutes. Even if david blaine held his breath for 9 minutes, he wouldn't have broke the record, because he was breathing pure oxygen underwater.

Apparently, Ron went to Chichester High School and they had a Football feud with Sun Valley.

Normally Ron with say something like "Chichester 35 Sun Valley 17-best Thanksgiving ever" accompanied by band music.

Edit: Ahh beat to it.

I haven't heard all of today's show yet, so ignore this if they eventually brought it up.

When they were talking about the Rhode Island Great White fire, no one mentioned the fact that the bar purchased non fire-proof egg crate foam for acoustic lining on the walls and ceiling. Once the pyros were fired, that stuff doomed them all. There is a perfectly safe type of foam that they could have used, but they took the cheap way out.

I saw a documentary on the fire. Fire experts say people started dying from the fumes in less than one minute. People often make the mistake of using this stuff on their beds. Tests have shown that one tiny ember from a cigarette can have the whole pad in flames in about 5 seconds.

The pyro guy is mostly to blame, but the bar owner deserves to pay also.

The reason the catholic church erased all evidence of women hanging around with the apostles was because at one time priests were allow to marry. If the priests died before their spouses, their property and assests went to the wife. But with no women in the way, the property went to the church. A nice little business move.
