remember, if you have it programmed to record it has to be:

shutoff, in the home cradle.

and you can't set the two recording periods past 5 hours combined. dont forget to disable the record thing on the weekends, or you'll likely end up with o&a since timeslots are all wacky.

also, every now and then for a reason ive yet to solve, the segment info on the screen will not match up AT ALL to the audio that has been recorded, and sometimes the info will date back several weeks. it is extremely frustrating, cause if you skip around segments get cut to bits, and is usually only remedied by deleting all recordings and starting over.

on the positive side, the '5 hours of total recording time' doesnt apply to talk. i can squeeze about 8 hours of ron and fez onto mine before it starts writing over the oldest, which means almost 3 days of shows. bling bling

I have the Roady2, MyFi and Inno. Only the Inno is active now. Got the R2 really cheap as my first radio, then I wanted something portable for work and got the MyFi for about a hundred, I kinda beat the shit out of it by banging into things and wearing it in my back pocket (messed up the jack cause I didn't have enough headphone slack), so I got an Inno.

I like the Inno best, but the MyFi is still kickass.

I can truly join you in your shame, as I went to Wal Mart just yesterday and bought a myfi. I had been listening online only till now and my job now doesn't allow radio time during the day. I tried my first recording session today but read (too late) that the power had to be attached to the unit for it to come on, even with a full battery. Better luck tomorrow perhaps. I haven't driven around with it yet but have had it in the car and it works fine. If I hold it in the right place in the house I can get a signal without an antenna, so maybe the rumors of poor reception are somewhat unfounded. I didn't see the myfi only package (I'm assuming that's what you got for $100--mine was $175 from a Wal Mart in NJ) but this one came with home/car/computer connections.

I'm listening to Ron and Fez right now. My 1st recording session worked fine. In it's cradle, turned off, set the session, that's it. Seems I can fast forward through individual commercials too. Nicey nice.

First of all, congratulations Moe. I'm sure you'll be happy with it, Plus the antenna headphones work great when using the MyFi as a portable. I use it a lot on walks or just hanging out outside.

I'm amazed you figured out the recording feature. I'm sure it's not difficult though I have yet to use it on mine myself.

Well since I completely called myself out for my stupid ways, I'll just give an honest update.

This thing is fucking great. I am sitting here listening to the show like I always did, loving Ron and Fez like I have been for years. Skipping right back Andreas Cantor and Bodog.net bullshit, getting to the good stuff. I paused it to take a shower, then went right back into it. Now when I'm done listening to the show, I'll just use my remote and turn back to regular XM programming. Gotta admit, this is pretty swank.

I gotta check the Hackensack Target. It's near work and usually cheap! WalMart blows. Even for 100 bucks!

Don't forget to "clear my xm" before trying to record the next show. You can fit a
couple of shows in memory, but if you don't clear it and run out of room you won't
get the new show. It doesn't record over old stuff.

Thanks Whistlepig, even though I only had one recording on there I just cleared it. I was listening to the show again, but I dont need it right now. The midnight replay is on, so I cleared it. All set up to record again tomorrow.

I've filled the memory all the way up before and forgotten to clear it and my
scheduled shows didn't record. I have a Pioneer AirWare so maybe it's different
than other MiFis.

Well I have the Delphi one. Either way, I don't need to keep the shows for anything so when I listen to them I'll erase them and set it up for another recording.
