Went to see their show last night in Prospect Park, pretty cool place to see a show actually. I went for Guster really, I used to be a huge fan of theirs in the college years. I don't really know their new stuff that well, but they didn't disappoint. It was weird to see that they still have the same college age demographic and I was no longer part of it. At 26 I felt like one of the oldest people there.

Ray LaMontagne was good too, I don't realy know his stuff at all but I think I may go out and buy the album. Weird dude though, looks like CHarles Manson and appears to have sever stage fright. He didn't really address the crowd at all, he barely made eye contact.

Anyway, that was my wednsday night for anyone who cares...

I got in to Ray LaMontagne last summer and love his cd. I think he's got a new one coming out if it's not already out and I can't wait to get that one.

As for me, I'm thinking of heading to the Steely Dan concert, a group I went through high school and college with. Should be interesting to see the crowd at that concert.

And you're right he does have a huge case of stage fright. I read an article where he said his first few public performances he played with his back to the audience. They thought it was a joke until he would turn around to intro a song and he'd be beat white and sweating profusely.

I'm so happy some people here share my music interests. Ray LaMontagne is amazing, I saw him at Bonnaroo last year and he killed. Guster killed as well but I'm not really into them. I was also dying to go to that DBT, RR, Black Crowes concert but its on the same night as Mosley/Vargas.

In terms of the sweat, I did notice that....at one point he turned around and the chick was like "holy shit, his back is drenched in sweat." He kind of reminded me of Van Morrison in that respect, I have seen him several times and he never addresses the crowd. He has the self-proclaimed "worst stage fright ever". But, I can see Ray moving into the Damien Rice/Ben Harper type music in my collection. I also just picked up a cd by this guy Amos Lee, same type songwriter genre....not bad at all.

As for Guster, try to find Parachute which was their first album in the mid 90's when they were still at Tufts. I don't even think they were signed yet. Great album, so is Goldfly.
