I hate to throw things out, especially books. But this old book "See I Told you so", the follow up to his "The way things ought to be" has been sitting in my room for like a fucking decade now and I don't think I ever cracked the book open to read the liner notes. I was a big Conservative backer as a kid and read his 1st book cover to cover. But over the years I've moved very far left from where I was. People like Limbaugh like to present you with a very Black and White world, but as we all know, the world is made out of shades of gray.

So what should I do? Toss the chubby drug taker's book because he can't get a rod, or put it on my bookshelf?

Survey says.......TOSS THAT FUCKER!!!

BTW I agree completely, I loved Rush's first book and believed what he and other conservatives said for quite a while. I felt like they had the same ideals as me and were more real than liberals and democrats. Over the past 6 or 7 years I've changed my views much more to the left side as well. I have always been liberal about certain topics, but others I was more right leaning, though that is not the case anymore. Fuck that fat limp prick!

I think if choice #2 was "Toss the Faggot Book" then that probably would be the right answer for you.

But I saw some secret love in the wording of #2.

Keep this special book. Always cherish it.

Why throw out something you've never read?

Read it and see what you agree and disagree with. Reading always stimulates thought, even if it's something you don't see eye to eye on with the author.

Truth is timeless, my friend. If you think thoughts and ideals from "over a decade ago" aren't worth anything, then you might as well toss out any music from the 20th century or before.

And forget about reading the great philosophers from Ancient Greece and Asia.

I've loved the few books I read by PJ O'Rourke and have a few of his older ones that I never read and almost don;t want to read them as I think the points/issues will be irrelevant.

I'm not gonna toss them though.

I hate the idea of tossing a book. Either keep it or donate it to a library.

I liked the book myself, but I have a tendency to not keep books around long after I finish them. Toss it. Or burn it.

And how I cut my teeth, politically. PJ's more of a Libertarian than Rush, who's more of a Pat Robertson-type Conservative.

As far as Rush goes, I'd suggest getting a dog and using the pages when you walk him. Or buy a snake and use it in his cage.

Rip out pages and highlight random text. Then send back to him, page by page. He will think that you are trying to stalk him, or give him cryptic messages. Fun!
