How does that work anyway? How can an average Joe like myself get subtext beneath his name on posts? Am I a newbie or what?

Greetings, agent_314!

That little text under your name is a kind of nickname that the board moderators give to us once they get to know us. Hang around a while, and rest assured, you'll get one.

We call that your status. There's info about it in the <a href="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/faq.cfm">FAQ</a>

Hmmmm. I wonder what my subtext would say if I had put, "How can the Coolest Guy in the World get subtext beneath his name on posts?"
Damn my eyes for not thinking of that earlier.

Remember that scene in "Animal House" when Belushi gave the new Delta members nicknames? There ya' go!

I suppose that "Average Joe with Subtext" isn't too bad. It sure beats the hell out of "Pinto" or "Flounder" or one of those other Animal House names. Thanks to all of the administration people who replied, and all of the helpful board members too.
