Here's the thing. Everybody is on the lookout for a "white powder", but what do the spores really look like?

Is it really a white powder? Who said it was a white powder? Is it like Flour? Baking powder? Coffee-Mate? Corn Starch?

Or is it so fine that you really can't see it, but can only feel a gritty texture? How fine of a mist is it if airborne? Can you see the puff in the air or do you just breathe normally not even noticing it?

It would help a lot of panicky people out if someone in the government would take a few seconds to show us what it actually looks like. It's not that I'm paranoid about white powder. I'm just sick of having the subways shut down because some idiot or asshole spilled his Sweet-n-Low on the seat, and the mailroom here having to investigate "suspicious" packages because they have styrofoam peanuts that have broken up a bit.

Anthrax spores are microscopic, invisible and odorless.

You would not know if you inhalled anthrax.

The post office has posted a list of common sense rules for identifying supicious mail. Check it out at this site.

The mailroom guys in my
company all wear surgical
gloves when handling the mail.
The ironic thing is that when
they take off their gloves,
white powder (talc) is left
all over their hands.

Just an observation...

I wish I loved its silly face;
I wish I liked the way it
walks; I wish I liked the way
it talks; And when I'm
intoduced to one; I wish I
thought, What jolly fun!

ALICE - The mailroom guys who wear gloves have a greater chance of contracting a latex allergy than getting anthrax.
