I really think this needs to get a second chance at coming fruition...there is a place called Sing Sing on the Lower East Side, between 5th and 5th on Avenue A. It is never crowdwed, so if we got 15 or 20 people together one friday night in Sept or Oct we should be able to take the place over. Anyone interested?

Is sing sing the one where you have to get a room and BYOB?

If you guys want a private BYOB place..

iBop

and another bunch of reviews on it here

I know people who have had events there and they love it, especially because you can load up on your own booze and food, and with 15 people if each brings a bottle of booze or a case of beer or a food item this could be a very cheap event when the cost is split.

I think a regular karaoke bar is better. Their is a great place in Red Hook, Brooklyn...Hope and Anchor. It is a good crowd, hosted by a transvestite bee keeper, good food, and it isn't to expensive for drinks. A little off the beaten path, take the F train to Carroll street - not far from there. Red Hook is a great time for those who haven't been.
