The That's Life forum is meant a medium between those in pain looking for
answers and those with the life experiences to help guide them through
it. This is not a forum for humorous, sarcastic or otherwise caustic replies, as most people posting in this forum are seeking actual assitance or advice. Anyone violating this policy will banned without prior warnings. The length of said "vacation" is dependent on the severity of the violation and prior history of violations.

Just a thought. I know I'm not the only board member who uses the "Today's Active Topics" as a startpage when coming to the board. When I respond to a comment, I hardly ever check which forum that thread is in, and I would guess that others are the same.

How many people actually pay attention to what forum a thread is on
when they just click on latest discussions link (today's active
discussions)? I know I don't.

This is an old rule that seemed to be laxing, so I was just reiterating.  The rule seemed to have fallen down intot he forum somewhere.SinA, don't worry, if it's a small joke, we understand and you'll get a private message asking you not to do it again.  We understand how it can happen, but some of the humor on the board can be innappropriate at times and that's what we're really trying to avoid.Rich, if you don't read the forum topics, that is your mistake.  It is both on the active page and on the top of each thread page.  You could also pay attention to the timbre of the responses.  If everyone is saying "we're sorry your puppy died," it's probably not the right time to ask if they are going to bbq it.

Not really a problem for me because I am more of a pile on the attack kind of guy. I don't initiate.I was just pointing out that a lot of members never even know what forum they are responding to.

I remember when that rule was initiated. I agree with it and am glad that is was re-itterrated. There are PLENTY of other places on the board to be a wise-ass or jump on other people. We can save a place to be nice once in a while.
