WJFK stunk, I thought the best was 2 shift WNEW . I missed opie and anthony but never knowing when R&F would be on was classic.

WJFK stunk

Yet I somehow became a fan. Weird.

I don't think anyone said it was bad radio. Even Ron will admit that they often phoned it in at WJFK because they hated it there so much. Ron and Fez phoning it in is still better than anything else you can find on the radio dial.

penis pump

it was great radio

The WJFK era was fantastically great radio. I actually sort of liked it better when they were phoning it in because it gave the show such a relaxed feel, and they'd just sort of let crazy shit happen around them, and it usually did. Some shows were a little on the quiet side. But there was always the Mikey D situation, or Dubs as a really strong 3rd mic, or someone like Elfish, Skellington or Perry would be in the studio, and of course the interns. I think the JFK interns were really pretty unbelievable in terms of making for great radio, especially during 2004 with Sid and Benicio one right after the other. It is a shame things went so south for Fez when he was here, but I'm not sure they'll really ever be back to normal for him.

I really miss the night shows.

My taste is perfectly clear, but this was not intended to be a Moe-esque D&M post.

I have to agree with those sentiments. Lets just say that Ron and Fez are good and leave it at that. Everyone has a favorite era, yes. But ultimately it is the same great show in the end. It is awesome to hear them again, and uncensored on XM. Enough of this bickering.

Of course I'm biased toward NYC Ron and Fez, but I have to admit that many of the most interesting fans of the show come from the DC area. Crazy Jen, Bobo, Perrynoid, Elfish, KOP, Kathleen from the Bronx, etc.

I didn't listen to the DC shows nearly as much as when they were on WNEW or now on XM, but like ADF said, they were always better than anything else on the dial.

I would not consider Perrynoid part of the DC era. Unlike the other "talented" people mentioned, Perrynoid was already contributing and visiting the show during the WNEW days circa 2001. In fact, the living legend's FIRST Ron and Fez appearance was during their midnight ".com" show under the name "Jimmy Gun" along w/ Pornstar Brittany Andrews. (Dumpys first night as producer)

Twas Perrynoid who really initiated and instigated the FIRST "big ass night of fights" in NYC ( Feb 22, 2002) - RON & FEZ, Billy Staples and Perrynoid sold that event out in a few hours. It was IMO, one of the most hyped radio events in NYC history. Drawing media from around the world & propelling Perrynoid into the national spotlight.

I'm sure if Perrynoid were alive today, he would be honored by being affiliated with the "DC CREW" but the truth is, Perrynoid was radio royalty long before WJFK had the privilege of cleaning up his puke that he left behind for infinity broadcasting puppets to wipe up. Janitors will tell their children, "I cleaned up Perry's puke!"

"You couldn't pay me to step foot in Fairfax County or Washington DC ever again" Perry told reporters from his farm in Perryville MD

And that, my friends, is why Perrynoid rightly deserves to hold the title "demented genius."

I never heard one minute of ron and fez in DC. When they left wnew I was bummed. I figured id never get to listen to them again. But hearing them talk about those days I dont feel like Ive missed much. There do seem to be way more friends of the show from DC involved with the show now though.

I like Perry and many others have been listeners since the .com days. My favorite time was when they were on in ny but broadcasting to both DC and NY. The drinking shows were great and billy was the best phone screener. It sucks that Infinity could not get the act together and let the boys just do their thing, I think that they would have been a national act on terrestrial radio if they would have had someone in their corner at the top.

Personally I enjoyed the DC days because of the access to the show and being able to help behind the scenes with live events, the open door policy, playing bumper music, and just hanging with the guys outside of the studio.

I became a Ron and Fez fan listening to their WNEW show on JFK from 11pm to 3am. When they were ronandfez.com. those were the good old days. I'm not saying they're bad now or anything just that they were some great bits back then that I enjoyed listening to and laughed my ass off at and I kinda miss.
