NOW DRAFTING: The Ron and Fez Cartoon Show

<p>So it has come to this after months of&nbsp; planning and discussion.</p><p>The
Ron and Fez Cartoon Show is in its birthing stages right now. With the
blessings of Ron and Fez and the rest of the staff here at RonFez.net,
this thing will come to fruition in some form.</p><p>Most likely the cartoon shorts will be based on On Air bits and stories from the show. The bits seem the way to go for now.</p><p>The Character Designs will be the Ron and Fez characters I have been doing for about 4 years now.</p><p>There
is the process of coming up with the Character Bible which will have
the premise of the show. That is in the works now with the character
descriptions, bios and action poses and line-ups.</p><p>This is something I am really giddy about but in no way can do it myself. </p><p>First thing is first. I need to assemble a team of some sort.</p><p>Qualifications would include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Being able to adapt to my designs of the characters which will be provided soon.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Flash which will be where most of the cartoons will be assembled. <br />
</li>
<li>Following a colour key to make sure everything matches up.</li>
<li>Good communication back and forth with me.</li>
<li>Any animation skills including mouth movements for the speaking parts.</li>
<li>Being a dedicated fan of the show and being able to commit to this project.</li>
</ul>
<p>I would love to see this as a group effort as something by the fans
for the fans. No way in hell can I do this all myself (or even expect
to) but even just being able to take care of the character animation
and the backgrounds and just sending out the Zipped up frames and then
getting them back to me would be a great help. As I said, ANY animation
skills would be great.</p><p>I am hoping for this to be something that
would get aired on Adult Swim or something like that. Just little 3
minute shorts would be great. This is something I have wanted to do for
so long cause ever since first hearing the show 4 years ago, it just
seemed like something that would translate well to a cartoon. Hence why
I started drawing them in the first place. </p><p>Getting together the
first initial short is my first goal because then it will give us
something to shop out there to the video platforms that would suit it
best. Be it TV or iPod or little Webisodes.&nbsp;</p><p>I realise we
all have lives out there and sometimes yes, life does take priority.
This is not something I expect to be done in a matter of weeks. It will
take time and patience. 6 months to a year from now, I can see
something out there. </p><p>So, if there is any serious interest, PM
me and let me get to know you and your talents and work as a the team
that I have always known RonFez.net to be.</p><p>Mikeyboy, JustJon and

<p>I've worked in SWISH (which is FLASH lite). I'm a cartoonist by trade and even though my newspaper work is black and white. I have done some coloring for other projects using photoshop. I'm also pretty good with Photoshop on a whole. I'd love to work on this project!&nbsp; I have a moderate amount of Flash animation experience, and I'm proficient in Photoshop.&nbsp; One of my strengths in Flash is figuring out creative ways to convert raster graphics to vector graphics for use in animations.&nbsp;

Pretty much stickied cause its a work in progress.

6 months or more later (actually longer than that) and I have yet to do a Character Bible of sorts.

Pretty much the biggest problem I have with this is my own confidence in doing it and having it be something not only RF.net would be happy and proud of but of course Ron and Fez themselves. I can't speak for them at all but I do have a good feeling.

I have made efforts to obtain some audio from the show and have gotten nowhere. As much as a year ago I asked and gotten nothing. So either there is no interest anymore or I just don't know what there is. As much as Mikey and Jon have been more than supportive of this, I really don't want to bug them either as I know their hands are very full.

There was also shit with having a second job that really got in the way but sometimes life interferes with the art. That coupled with moving and other little things (broken arm) but mostly a confidence thing.

For ANYONE who has PMed me in the past, do so again if you wish. I love to hear from people who wish to help but the bigger thing is, I have no idea how to delegate which artistic responsibility to whom. Having animation skills would be terrific especially if it is just inking what pencil test sketches I would email off to you and then get everything back digitally. I am really sorry for anyone I may have been pissy with. It wasn't my intention.
I apologize for babbling here.

I have this vision of hopefully doing up some short short 30 - 60 sec bits and going the YouTube route first. I get little synopsis in my head and think they would be great to run with and they sit in a notepad.

Thanks to a familiar friend, I do have a them song which I am working together an opening sequence for. Short and sweet and to the point. I don't want to divulge the name now but thank you my friend. It made me moist.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks, I can have some sort of Character Guide put together with a small synopsis of my intentions for The Ron and Fez Cartoon Show.

I hope I still have the boys blessing as it had been a while since we last had a serious talk about this whole idea of mine and what they even would love to do with it. That really tickles me more than anything. Being that all my original intentions were was to draw in cartoon form, two guys who would entertain me nightly and make me laugh.

So after all that lets see where this all pans out. Please be patient with me and do not hesitate to IM (AIM) or PM or MySpace friend me(I guess thats how the kids say it). There will be a MySpace soon for my art and animation stuff. I do have some Freelance work I am doing at the moment but after that I'm all clear.

I also really need to know in all your God's Honest truth, how much do you, the Ron and Fez fan, want to see an animated version of a bit or my little version of a possible R & F or Dave (perhaps) situation?

I do finally have a studio set up here and have been doing drawing again and having a fire for it. Things are also really turning out good. Like riding a bike, I have not forgotten how to animate things and can hopefully produce something good.

I think R&F would translate into a great adult swim style cartoon. Like Ronnie when he said Gervais just typed out his radio show and called it a novel, R&F can cover all mediums.

The thread has been unstuck and will just be left to linger in thread heaven. I just don't have the steam or honestly the passion for it anymore. Fun while it lasted and I thought the idea could have taken off but it seems there is zero interest in it. Been just talking about it and thinking about it for way too long and should have never opened my mouth about it in the first place. Sorry for wasting anyones time who looked at this and to Jon and Mikeyboy who gave me the forum to do so. I feel like an absolute fool for even pitching the idea of something that never got done. It may resurface someday but for now it just lies in purgatory.

dude it doesnt have to go down that way. you know theres a few people willing to run with what youve done so far. quite frankly its a pretty impossible gig for on guy.

how about we use a few of your characterisations to do a couple of really quick, lo-fi bits to see if this can go anywhere and if we can get more buddays on board.

any chance we could have a look at some of your ron and fez original drawings with the idea of putting some really really really simple animations together.
