Anyone notice that Ron and Fez have been signing off ealry lately. They didn't today but on Monday and a couple of day last week they started playing that crappy satalite of love song at 2:45 or so. That's a full 15 minutes of show we are not getting.
It's a debate, more commercials during or leave early. I say as long as they are on close to the time they are supposed to be then, sure why not take off a few minutes earlier.
I have to record with the MyFi, so I see all the commercial breaks. Usually there are three segements with the two breaks in-between. Sometimes they do four segments if they have a couple of guests, as they like to get them set up. Monday, since there were no guests, they only did the two long segments with a 5 minute break in the middle and a longer break at the end. If you calculate the time overall it pretty much works out the same every day.
By my count it was ten till 3:00, which is perfectly acceptable sign off time in my mind, especially since most of their stop sets are relatively short and infrequent.

I would much rather have them take less commercial breaks and leave early... the longer the segment the better...except if there's a guest. Thats the exception where a break should be taken to set up the guest.

I decided to perform an analysis of this year's XM shows. I took the playtime of each of my mp3s which have had the commercials edited out and made a histogram out of them. A total of 130 shows were included. Here is the histogram:

Throughout the month of September and up through last week, all the shows have been 160 minutes, which is in fact LONGER than the shows had been running this year.
