The "Third Party" question got me thinking...which do you think will happen first, and do you think it will happen in our lifetime? I was going to break it further into parties, and maybe even see how to word in a religious choice, but ultimately decided to just run with these big three.

I believe americans will tolerate a female before allowing a negro.

But I think it's reasonable to think that a President will be elected with one of the elements being true before one that has all three.</p><p>If you want something mutually exlusive try a non-liar and a politician.</p>

<p>i went eith 3rd party mainly because of all the rednecks and othernarrow minded bigots who would be more accepting of a 3rd partycandidate( basically the same as the other 2 parties)</p><p>vs a drastically different candidate thats either female or black</p>

<p>I went 3rd party because I think its more likely to happen sooner than later.</p><p>Disillusionment with the current system ( against both parties ) and the regional voting breakdowns ( Suth, Midwest, etc ... ) will aid that.</p><p>It'd be more likley to happen if a black and/or a woman was running under one of the major parties.</p><p>Like it or not the first party to put up a black or a woman will allow the other major party to win by the likes of Reagan v Mondale.</p><p>If you take out 3rd party I'd say a black would get elected first.</p><p>But he better be quite the Uncle Tom.</p>
I hope a third party candidate gets elected in my lifetime. I don't care if that candidate happens to be a woman, an African-American, an Asian-American, a Latino, or whatever. As long as it's someone who understands and believes in the limited role government is supposed to be playing in the lives of America's citizens. <br />

I would most like to see a third party president, but I imagine we will see women and minorities from the Reps and Decs before that.<br />

Considering both Rice and Hillary are top contenders in each's party, we might see a woman president in '08, maybe a black president too (is Rice black or latino?)
