Let me start by saying John Bonham is an animal on the drums. Maybe the best. I respect them all as musicians & song writers. But I could spend the rest of my life and NEVER hear another fucking song by this band and not give 2 shits. and that God awful movie "The song remains the same" - was a snore / bore-fest for me. I dont like the band. I hope satallite radio never creates a 24 hr Led Zep channel. I wish they could just be erased from rock & roll history.;Hippy stinky loud and boring. and hey jimmy page, ya boozed out flower freak... he looks like a cross between a flower and a moth. All of you please burn your led zep albums/cds today. Kill their legacythey may be the only band that has ever made me sick to my stomachyes they are great but DAMN I HATE THEM

My take on them...I've enjoyed much of their music for a very long time.. I hate their fanatics. I guess this is why I love Grateful Dead music, but can identify with people who hate them. Most people who say the hate the Dead, really just don't like people who call themselves "Deadheads".

Ripoff hacks but catchy music.I can't listen to a lot of their music anymore because they're way overplayed but "Tangerine" will always be one of my favorite songs of all time.

first. i would like to say thanks for the censored title -- i don't feel so paranoid clicking away at workand jimi's later work really outshines the experience, and is just brilliantand i never really got led zeppelin, a few enjoyable songs ... but all the tolkien/fantasy nonsense and the mindless fanbase (that accepts nothing less than their godly status) are tiresomeactually, any fan that thinks their favorite band/artist is nothing more than a pop act, really needs to relaxexcept for elvis costello and van morrison who are true artists that transcend genres with pure genius

Reasons I dislike this band:1 - over played2- over rated3- songs are too long4- i hate the lyrics / fantasy crap5- never liked Robert Plants voiceReasons I like this band: John Bonham - his patterns will drive you bonkers. Kinda like Alex Van Halen. Sounds simple but if you really pay attention to the actual drumming, they do some off beat weird shit that works - and works well for the song.  Zep would be NOTHING without him. As a youth, hearing their stuff high - really sounded awesome. first discovering them was a blast. but enough already. Kinda feeling the same way about PFunk - tho I will never hate them like Zep. Mets 3-0 bottom of the first. again, they all are mind blowing musicians but man, ive turned on them hardcore. I will take the grateful dead over led zep any day. music - and I have no problem with dead heads. I could never get sick of the Dead.

Perhaps you hate rock and roll then, as I think one could make a strong argument that Led Zeppelin was the high water mark of old school rock and roll.  Sure punk was a response to the indulgences of perhaps exactly Led Zeppelin.  I love punk.  I love Led Zeppelin.  They are an archetype for a reason -- they were amazingly good and created at least 6 ridiculously strong albums right in a row.  Take a break & come back.  Listen to the stuff that isn't blasted on the radio -- the acoustic / alternate tuning stuff on III and Physical Graffiti... Listen to Hats Off To (Roy) Harper from III with headphones (seriously do that -- it's fun).Steal a car this autumn at dusk and take a drive listening to disc one of Physical Graffiti.  When the disc ends, get out of that car, insult a baby & steal another car.  Put on disc two and drive home.  Mix it up!And always remember -- HAMMER OF THE GODS

Back in 85 or 86 I sat in on a few jams with the Junkyard Band and Trouble Funk. I used to work the board during Southwest Fest back in the 80's. But trouble funk and junkyard let me drum on a few songs back in the day.  I havent been to a show in a long time but I used to go all the time when I was a kiddynoid. Love real go-go music.  been there done that.  Always have some gogo near by. I never really understood why DC GOGO or any gogo every really caught on mainstream. ... tho trouble funks "da butt" had a brief taste of something in the late 80's with a video on MTV and starring members of salt & peppa. Led Zeppelin was one of the most perfect combinations of blues, country, skiffle, and funk.  The problem is that only their hard rockin songs get played on the radio.  They have such a huge library of so many different kinds of sounds and they don't get credit for any of it by the casual listener.

i love the channel as something to fall back on once in a while. i heard in my time of dying on friday and forgot how much i love that song. it's something that would never get play elsewhere due to its length.

I am both shocked and sad to see a thread and the feedback in it. Zeppelin is one of the greatest bands of all time. Completely unique, multi-faceted with a wide soundscape and a TON of great songs.

The music is timeless, the integrity is impeccable, and the talent for each on their respective instruments is practically unparalelled.

I understand the need for newer generations to storm/cut down the music of the generations that preceded them in some instances, but to cut down Zeppelin, to the point of them making you "sick" just doesn't make sense to me.

We all have our opinions, but I never thought I'd read what I'm reading here.

I don't give a shit WHAT the radio plays, as I really don't go there for the music I want to hear anyway, it doesn't diminish the quality of the songs.

I hated that Cadillac commercial but I still love "Rock and Roll" so I just changed the channel.

I'm as big a Zeppelin fan as there is and everytime I hear the first notes of "Stairway" or "Fool In The Rain" or "All My Love" on the radio, I take the Lord's name in vain.

On the other hand, I damn near screamed like a little girl when they played "Gallow's Pole" the other day.

I love Led Zeppelin and I have been enjoying the channel. Does the radio over play them maybe. I say to you, what many of you have said to O and A haters. Change the fucking channel. One of the best bands of all time, and musically few come close to them.

i really don't get people saying stairway was overplayed. some of the other stuff, sure, but not that one. i used to listen to NEW all the time and can't say i heard it more than twice a year. and one of those times would be during their "firecracker 500"

I don't mind Led Zeppelin having their own channel. It's better than XM wasting more space on the dial for six holiday channels. I think I read that it's only going to be on until May. Frankly, I think it would be kind of cool if XM had an artist of the month channel where every month a different artist would get the 24-hour treatment. I wonder if people here would be bitching up a storm if XM were doing 24 hours of Bruce Springsteen.

I probably would be, but that's just me.
