Yea so I'm getting real bored of being single. Im 18 years old finishing up highschool, I dont talk to more then a handfull of people that are left in the school, only one is a girl and I dont like her like that. I suck at meeting new people, Im am SEVERELY shy , even more so since i hardly have any friends left in the school still. I only have 5 periods and theres only a handful of them that are attractive. There's a girl in my Health Class, she's into punk and she's kinda like me i can see where i know she's a shy girl too because she's just as quiet. I See the girl now i just need to find out how to get her. I know im good looking enough , and we probally share similar music tastes. I just have to "meet" her now, Im way to shy to just talk to her out of no where. Everyday the teacher comes late to class so the whole class has to wait outside. I was told to give smiles by my friends. I found her myspace but that'd be kinda creepy to just start talking to her online rather then inschool or whatever. I have no clue anymore. This is just some lame ass highschool thing , all i know is that i better start trying to get a girl before i end up like my uncle bobby....IM NOT PLAYING GOLF AND SITTING IN MY ROOM ALL DAY ALONE!!! (Uncle bobby is real btw)

__________________________________________________ ____________

Update 11/24/06
I think she likes me now. On this upcoming saturday she just so happens to be going to a show that im going to also (to see a friends band) so its an excuse for me and her to hang out for the first time out of school. Making progress :p

kid listen you dont want to deal with the girls at that age anyway. trust me they all like assholes. so if ur a decent guy just hang out and bide your time til your mid twenties women realize that most guys they like are assholes and they change. and im like shy to the point of not talking. and whats worse im not really a drinker so trust me enjoy your youth, u dont wnat to be bogged down by a girl right now anyway. do drugs get wasted enjoy what seems to be your senior year and realize that focusing too much ona girl is just counterproductive. to quote my fuck buddy 'just let it happen it will' then she walks back to her boyfriends dorm.

You have to know what your shooting for. Find a comfort level, even shy people have a comfort level talking to some people. Live by the rules of George Costanza, get in and get out. Make a quick statement and don't let the mood get stale and awkward. Always be thinking of that transition to bail yourself out of a bad conversation. You have to find a way to never be in any awkward moments. If you go out to a movie with her you have the ride there and the ride back, and the time before the movie starts. I say start with studying together. You almost always have something to talk and its not based on you asking questions about her or talking about yourself. You can kind of work in personal conversation that way little by little and work up the comfort factor. From studying you can cheat your way into a first date. Transition studying into watching a movie or tv, shes at your house and probably won't leave. Do you realize by doing this you have bamboozled your way into a date and you are one on one with her in a personal enviorment(not a theater)?

You have to start somewhere by letting her know you are aware of her, you sound like your not the type of guy to be real forward about it. Its cool not many people have the confidence or the type of personality to do that. That doesn't mean your weird just that you have to attack it from a different angle.

I only picked the name angry kevin because I was angry i couldn't think of any good names for the forum. Im quite mellow actually nothing really bothers me except some stuff and even if i was i doubt this girl would care. Uhhhhh whats the max age distance that a guy and girl can have. Im 18 but strangely look way to young like 15.....

lol thanks, i dont see anything yet in this girl. If we get to the point were theres a cross road between being good friends or the other "more then friends" then ill pick the better long-term one. Am I a lonely person? Obviosly , my friends say im never happy and people ive know for a month or two notice it too. I just need to get a girl that'll make me happy. This girl has everything i want , she knows alot about music, she doesn't take shit from people , she's cute and she's not a fake like the last girl i liked... Im gonna wait a while see how things go then ill probally make another thread about what should i do after me and her are good friends and theres signs of chemistry between us. I just wanna hurry up a bit before some other guy comes along, though i shouldn't worry and there wont be.

Seriously. Don't become good friends. That will likely lead to a great friendship. The ipod is cool, and her being into punk is good. That means she isnt into the same old bullshit. I love punkj girls, that especially makes it easier to ask her out. They dont pull punches, just be yourself. If she digs you awesome, if not your only 18.

Yea i think my chances are good. Im kinda of a older guy, im just about on the road with a car (lazy me should've been driving a loong time ago) , she gets my points of view well, we get angry at the same things, she hates her old ex because he didn't care and ive given hints that im a guy that does care. So i just gotta keep it up for 2 weeks and she'll be mine. And i can show off to my single loser friends that im not as much of a loser as them any more. lol

Things are going ok so far. Im giving her some cd's on monday in class so thats sorta a + , she told me how much of a dick her last bf was (she dumped him like a week ago so this is gonna be awhile before i think she'll be ready for a new bf). She also lost her best friend like a year ago then i told her the story about how i lost my best friend because he's a dickhead drugee now. Right now i just gotta impress her and make her think im cool then ill make the move when or if she's ever ready. Until then im just making friends.

Bro. no amount of gifts or swag or anything else is going to impress the girl.If it does, she shallow and superficial . Just be true to yourself. Thats all the cool you are gonna need.Hint... you will get further in 10 minutes by being interested in her than you will in 10 years trying to get her interested in you.

I told her that im the kinda guy that wont buy some stupid really expensive gift that has no meaning but a gift that has meaning , but if it costs a "pretty penny" as said in my elderly word dictionary then thats something to get but im not the kind of guy to shower a chick in gifts.

Oh and she has interest in me now i think , i think i might actually get her :)

You are too young to be worried about being single. You live in one of the most populated city in America. Go out, have fun, wear rubbers, you'll find someone. Don't rush, there is a cunt out there to marry that will suck the fun out of you and deny you of sex later. RELAX!

And the last time i talked to her "online" she said something about liking the cd's i handed her (no real convo in person yet) And today when she gave one back we both only said one word and there was an awkard silence as we waited for the teacher to come and let the class in. Maybe i just have to not blurt out that im kinda older , let them get to know me then like me then when they find out they wont care as much. Idk... I also think i might biologically be 17 because when i was little my neighbor friend's mom had his age changed one year older so he could go to school at biologically 4. Maybe its a secret kept from me from my mother but my neighbors mother didnt care if her son knew...Idk about this though. Its probally false.

im suppose to be a freshmen and ppl say i act and kinda look like a junior

Last year I was supposed to graduate but thats why im only there for half the day this year. It makes no difference to me really , ill still go to college and stuff. So basically i'd be a college student dating a 10th grader. But then again im not and im not like any other 18 year olds. I really dont think im really 18 , i think ive been lied to all these years.

Yea so I haven't posted any updates in a month. On jan 23rd I told her over myspace how I felt , she said she didnt like me like that , and she was still numb over her ex (who she dumped 4 months ago) Its been a month since the message. We still talk on aim and I see her at shows. Tomm she wants me to pick her and a friend up after her mom drops her off at where she (her mom) thinks the show is gonna be. Then I have to take them like 3 towns over to a hardcore/punk show. (This kinda has me worried , since im not a minor and they are if somehow this backfires wont I get hauled off in cuffs like a monster?) But yea, I didn't give up but Im not trying as hard as I was before.

Not necessarily. You might have to find someone to vouch for you, but since you post here I bet you could. There are plenty of nice girls out there, and I know it's hard, but sometimes, you gotta force yourself to do things you're not comfortable with. You'd be surprised. I'm pretty shy too, but I'll go talk to people and then afterwards you'll realize it's not so hard.

Also, I don't know about your comfort level with this but alcohol does help. If you don't want to drink though, then that's fine. Think for yourself.
