I love keeping up on all the latest technological news and I regularly check out websites that report the newest electronic products out on the market.  My main obsession lately has been cell phones.  I study them like crazy and read all the reviews I can find and then buy one.  I currently own 6 different cell phones and I'm trying like hell to talk myself out of heading to the mall right now to buy number 7.  I'm looney.

Just got back from the mall.  I was in the store, had the phone in my hands, and even bargained the salesman down 50 bucks.  And I walked away.  See?  I'm no addict!Besides, I was dying for a coffee and a cigarette.

I'm positive Apple is going through with their plans for an iPhone which raises an interesting dilemma for me: I'm super loyal to 2 brands in my life - Nokia and Apple.  If Apple makes the phone themselves or subs it out to a company like Samsung I don't know what I'll do.

Why buy so many cell phones?  Dont you have a plan, and if you bought another phone it would mess up your plan?  I have my Nokia too and I love it, and I know there are others out there now, but I an honesly content with it, and it basically does everything I could ever want.  Its a phone, a radio, an alarm clock, a camera, a PDA, a voice recorder, etc.  The only thing it doesnt do is make me breakfast.  If they had one that turned into a light sabre, or an electric shaver, Id be SO there..

If you've got a cell phone that takes a SIM card (Cingular or T-Mobile) you can just stick the SIM into the new phone and it works no problem. You can switch back and forth, too. When one's low on battery power, I put it on the charger and pop the SIM into another phone. Nokia phones are also easily and cheaply "unlocked" which means I can buy a T-Mobile phone, pay $4.95 to have it unlocked so it will accept a Cingular SIM card and away I go. I had some of those kinds before I got my newest and best so far : the 6102<img height="230" src="http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/1800mobiles_1924_46782850" width="171" border="0" /> I know there are newer models, but this one basically does it all for me. I was lusting after a flip phone after so many years with the kind you have, and accidentally calling someone once because I hot a button.  I found a different version of the same phone for T Mobile, that had a rubebrized body, but it was eseentially the same phone (though the T Mobile one is bluetooth and mine is not).  I had some problems with mine being "slippery" because of the finish, and I switched out the rubberized back and now I have it on my phone and its greater still.  Plus the free extra battery.

My cell-phone is 4 or 5 years old. It doesn't fold in half, it doesn't take pictures or videos, it doesn't store and play music, it can't access the internet.I can however, use it to talk to and listen to people.

Standard issue silver <a href="http://www.motorola.com/motoinfo/product/details.jsp?globalObjectId=69" target="_self" title="Razr">Razr</a> here, 7.5 megs of memory, but I love the lil sucker! slow downloading web pages, but with the 1.3mp camera that takes 5 seconds of video, I think it's pretty slick. and t-mobile isn't all that bad so far, supposedly they have a router you can plug into your broadband connection that will act as an antennea hotspot, can't wait for that because sometimes the signal isn't altogether perfect My true gadget addiction is computers -> points to the closet full of pentium mmx machines that I intend to do something with someday...

I have to agree it is totally hard to not have the greatest gadgets out there. I so want a phone with wifi and all, but yet I probably only use about 30 minutes or so a month. and just barely any internet. But all the cool kids have the cool phones, so should I.

Did anyone mention the Razr? Its the biggest seller out there.For me the biggest issue is that you have to sign up for 2 yr contracts. So the phone you get is free or cheap as long as IT LAST THE ENTIRE 2 YEARS. If you lose it or if it breaks during the 2 yrs you have to buy a new phone at cost = hundereds of dollars.My Verizon 2 year contract is up and  my phone is shot. I use a LG VX6000 or something. IT DID NOT last me the entire 2 yrs ..its been dying for 6 months but i had to wait until the damn contract expired.So like many of you i have to go to Verizon and pick a phone. Ive heard others mention the 325.I just wanna talk and have the phone hold up with a long battery life. Speakerphone is nice also.

The future for gadgets will be convergence of features into a single reliable unit.Meaning, now the 'gadget' almost always does one thing well, and has others that pretty much suck.Ex. The cel phone is nice, but the cameras built in are almost always sub-par to a stand-alone digicam.Somewhere is a portable computer/music player/video game player/camera/phone thing, all combined together, and each part can compete with the satnd-alone versions of each gadget.So a cel phone with a 200+ GB Hard Drive, 5.1 surround sound, a 10+ Megapixel cam with a 20-200mm lens, a few gigs of Ram, that runs windows and/or Mac [or any other] OS, Wifi, GPS, can hold 52 gazillion songs and 5 zillion porno movies, that can record your TV shows, that plays every game out there and [this is tough] a large color watchable touchscreen. Some are working on a flexible screen one can pull out to full size [minimum 10 inches diagonal, for me]. And it costs next to nothing, never breaks down, never loses signal. Plutonium Power might be nice: youd have a battery with a 30 year charge.[oh yeah, re-reading the thread, you should be able to shove the thing into various body orifices for pleasure.]Just a matter of time.I'd like it to be able to kill at 50 yards also, but the manufacturers don't return my calls.

i love my phone. it took a while to get used to the small number keys, but it's just a great phone & the charge lasts about 4-5 days. i have no idea how to put songs on it. i don't really care about an mp3 phone. only wanted a good texting phone & it had to be a flip phone. i hate when the keys are on the outside.
