(hes a total hack and he sucks for those of you who arent familiar)

same thing with my friend liz. she works for me and i play r&f in my office during work, she hates it!

is it possible the boys just are not that funny?

Maybe she's just trying to be different. No matter what it's time to set an ultimatum.

I can't even imagine people not liking Ron and Fez. I mean I know people who aren't into talk radio and that's fine, but she actually likes some bull-fucking-shit, hack radio show more than our Ronnie and Fezzie?

Dude, have her looked at. For real. Ron and Fax are the absolute BEST thing I've ever heard, and the only thing I set aside to hear everyday.

When they first came to XM, I listened off and on for a couple of weeks and never got into the show. I didn't start listening again until ESD started coming on (before he was actually hired). That's when I finally started to "get" the show.

I love the show now, and never miss it, but there was a time when I wasn't much of a fan. So, maybe you just need to force her to listen to every show and I'll bet she'll come around.

the other night Horsepants' Gumare (katie, i think) asked me about the show. i told her to give it a good solid week or two to get caught up and then you will be laughing your panties off. I also told her that once her panties were off, she should mail them to me for my collection. she then turned away and left the bar in disgust. it was all reeshy's fault.

What I LUV about Ron & Fez is that they follow their muse. They are about entertainment, & while I find them to be HYSTERICALLY funny, entertainment is not always humor, drama is also entertainment. Fridays show was in a lotta ways about Fez surviving a near death experience & it ran the gamit, but a key part of what Ron and Fez gave us was the horror and tragedy of illness. I was spelbound & I cried at the end & I am glad I got the whole experience. Ron and Fez also operate in what I call "Long Form" radio, it's like Jazz improvisation & it goes where it needs to go no matter what it takes to get there. It is definitely NOT the zero attention span quick cut MTV pop tart bullshit that most people have come to accept as the norm in media. I don't mean to imply that they are old fashioned in their methods, to the contrary, I find them to be very brave in their approach and it's refreshing & relevant. I think they are the MOST UNIQUE & IMPORTANT entertainers that media has to offer today!!! My Buddays have my heart & my ears as long as they continue to broadcast!!!

I think a lot of times, Ron & Fez are so subtle that it's a show you have to really pay attention to, to get.

And by that, I mean I don't think it's necessarily a show you can put on in the background, and expect to zone in and out in terms of listening to it and get a few laughs.

For a new listener, it's something you really have to get into before everything starts making sense...at least that was my experience when I first started listening a few years ago.

That said, Friday's show was not one of those shows. Fez screaming drunk is about as unsubtle as you can get...and it was fucking hilarious. So if she didn't find that funny, yeah, it's probably her.

I have played The R&F Show for friends and gotten the gambit of reactions - from the laughing so hard they couldn't breathe, to the staring at me like I'm the idiot for liking them. It depends on the friends, the show at that moment, and whatever context is needed.

Ron and Fez are funny - maybe funnier than anyone else doing what they are doing - the show isn't always about making ham-n-eggers laugh, though. Sometimes it really is just for themselves, or a very, very select few. They don't make it a habit to laugh at their own joke right into the mic so you know there was a joke there - they don't seek out excuses to kiss ass from or to listeners - if they replay segments from show to show, it's usually very brief - some of the best jokes are from the context of the show - they don't stop everything to get newbies up to speed (ie: Rapper's bio and history).

Fridays show, and even today's show, made excellent radio for very different reasons - in the middle of them both, though, were some very funny moments - if today really was their "worst show since coming to XM" (which it wasn't), it was still better than everything else out there.

I think fridays show was a great show for people that are already fans. I think you made a poor decision in selecting a show like that for a non fan to listen to. Many of the things that went on were funny because we as fans know the charcters already. So listening to everyone interact with a drunk Fez was special. To your girlfriend something like the discussion about Britney and Kfed might be something to ease her into Ron and Fez. Im sure after a while she will appreciate the greatness of the show.

Yeah. I know what your girlfriend is talking about. What's so funny about that mean guy throwing big objects at the gay guy and the retarded guy? And he certainly has been very mean to that depressed black gentlemen that he was wagering with. It was cool the one time the mean guy returned that wallet, but that sort of kind gesture is few and far between..and that certainly wasn't funny. It was just sweet. He's so complicated and dreamy. If they really wanted to be funny they would do more cat and boyfriend jokes. Oh and I love that board gossip. Maybe that retarded guy could share some recipes and beauty tips!
