Seriously. Every week I have to deal with it during Nip / Tuck. My roommates feel the need to ask questions out loud that really have no point ((but often have to do with the show)). Its worse when they just point out the obvious. It really gets to me. Its rare when I actually enjoy a show to the point that I watch it on a fairly regular basis, so having to deal with such distractions is quite annoying.

I also noticed that when I'm home, I dont have to deal with this. If I'm watching TV with my family, we've always had the decency to wait until a commercial or whatever to talk about anything. Maybe we're just weird.

I can't agree more! My room mate does the same thing when I am trying to watch House. "What just happened?" "who is that?" "Why are they doing this?" Just shut you're mouth and let me watch my shows... ugh! I think we have had maybe three converstations in 4 months, we never talk, but he still feels the need to comment about every fucking line on TV. He also weighs 280 lbs and smells like an ape. ahhhhh, I feel much better getting that off my chest!

I hate it when people talk, or ask questions. I love my mom, but she seems to be unable to watch a show without saying "what did they say?" and someone else will tell her and then she will ask what it means and yada yada, and they completely miss 5 minutes of show, and then need a recap. I also hate it in a movie if people near me start talking. In school there are other students who start a conversation in class while the teacher is lecturing and they do not even try and hide their conversation, and the teacher is too nice to tell them to shut up. Drives me nuts.

She has no idea how to wait for the moments in the show where there is nothing going on to talk. I have started giving the subtle hint of turning up the volume to uncomfortable levels and or hitting the pause to stop the program completely. The odd thing is that when she is watching her programs, she turns on the subtitles because she says that because of the noise in the house, she can't hear the tv.

Just awful..

By the way, how is Nip/Tuck? I used to watch it, but don't have cable now, so I haven't seen it since last year.

hate maybe a strong word but i dislike it. what annoys me a bunch too is background noise when i'm on the phone or somebody trying to talk to me while on the phone.

sometimes i'll be really concentrating on a tv program and i'll finally hear my kids yell "dad" on their 3rd try. then they look at me and are confused as to why i didn't answer the first time. HELLO! I was concentrating on what i was watching on TV.... and i can't get them to understand that but i luv e'm none the less
