View Full Version : Homeless Shopping Spree at The Mall at Short Hills

Looks like everyone will be gathering at The Mall at Short Hills.

For those of you who do not know it, the mall is the fanciest thing you'll ever see outside of 5th Avenue or Rodeo Drive. Cars featured in that mall are not your typical Saturns or Toyotas. At this mall you'll find $200,000 Bently's, Porches, and other things you can't afford. The stores are all upper crust, things like a Mont Blanc store dedicated to $100+ pens, and the people are equally as snooty.

Can't wait for the chaos.

So i'm guessing that this has been planned with the mall. It seemed like in years past the malls didn't know and that added some of the excitement to the bit. But hearing homeless men sorting through fine cotten, wool and cashmire should be good.

Thats what i'm saying. Doesn't them announcing where the shopping spree is going to be let the mall prepare with security or whatever they can think to do to protect thier asses? I thought it used to be a secret till they were in the parking lot.

And to what extent can that be done if the mall is waiting?

Living in New Jersey, I've never seen this mall in my life. How do you get to it from Rt.17?

I was a bit groggy this morning, but it sounds like Ron & Fez are going to be involved somehow.

The difference in this Homeless shopping spree is in the past, they've been on a thursday or friday, in the afternoon. A good majority of people are still at work.

This time, O&A are doing it on a Saturday afternoon, a week before Christmas. The mall will be fucking PACKED. Brilliant.

(The point is - you can risk dropping the gates on a thursday or Friday afternoon. You can't risk it on a Saturday afternoon)

Shit I got excited when I saw this thread because I have to run over there after work today. Tomorrow is definitely maximum impact though; shoulder to shoulder Lacoste shirts as far as the eye can see. Best place to home base it, just for cringe factor, might be the bar at Legal Seafoods...equidistant btwn Neiman Marcus and Tiffany's, and right near people getting their Bentley's valeted.

I remember the first time I went to Short Hills, I was basically wearing a T shirt, sneakers, and a baseball cap and it was the most awkward shopping experience of my life. You literally feel like you are walking around a golf course just by looking at people wearing Polos and slacks to go to a god damn mall. I didn't even need to say anything, I recall my brother just giving me a look and then saying something along the lines of "The only thing these people are missing are golf clubs strapped to their backs".

The entire experience was topped off when I stepped into the Lacoste store and a middle aged woman with oversized black sunglasses was purchasing a PAIR of baby socks and promptly pulled out her black amex card.

What time are they expected to start again?

Who's going from the board here too?

My girl's family lives in the area so it might be a great time to make a visit and a quick run to the mall.

Oh I went to it last time they went here and I believe it was the first. I was at a meeting at the hotel across the street and I was waiting for a friend to come down from his room to head over and see the maddness. Good timing on the part of my company as the meeting is involved. And no lie, a foofy bitch came up to my boss and I as we were chattin about the meeting and tried to hand her keys to him. She thought we were valet guys and proceeded to walk into the fucking hotel with fur on and all. So my manager, the best I ever had, turns to me, flicks away his cig and throws the keys out on the highway with the car still fucking running in front of the hotel!! It was fucking hilarious bc he didn't say a word and simply said have fun and went back inside!! When we came back from the mall, the car was there still but not running any more. Out of gas, they figured out that something was wrong who knows. But none-the-less, funny fucking shit!!!

Damn Spoon. That is really funny! I went to the first one at Short Hills Mall. I was on Rt. 24 when they finally mentioned the mall location. I made a quick U-turn and hit the mall. There were about 100 O&A fans there in total (my best guess). This Saturday should be insane by comparison.

You have to think these local events for O and A won't always be around being that they're more than national in two areas. I also think about this shit in terms of our buddies too. I want the world for them, but will we lose them overall?? Little sad and dark sure, but a good question.
