Some of you may remember me :)

I was a big participant to R&F during the WJFK years. I first started listening to R&F during the night hours on WNEW. I am born NYer raised up there and North Jersey and I'm currently in a small city called Culpeper, VA. When the R&F show moved to Fairfax, VA, I got involved. I worked in a specialty costume (sam:coschume) store not terribly far from WJFK and I helped the show with anything costume related. I created the Elfish outfit he wore on stage at Dave and Busters as he performed Elvis songs. I was pretty involved, mostly behind the scenes, with staff and other listeners. R&F were always tremendous to me and many nights, unbeknownst to many of you, I was sitting right there in studio quietly next to Ron. I'm not particularly a mike-whore and many times I just wanted to watch the magic that IS the R&F Show live and in-person. The guys were always incredibly gracious to me. I was there for Turducken Thanksgivings and became friends with Kathleen, Bri Bri and Perrynoid. Over time I also got involved with The Hideout and became the 'official' photographer for J-Dubs and El Jefe's antics on late night.

I dropped off the face of the earth shortly after R&F moved back to NY and XM. Every bit of my life and attention had to be focused. A number of crazy events in life hit me all at the same time. I got the Big Casino.

So there I was....35 with cancer. Thyroid cancer to be exact. I had half of my thyroid removed and through a series of outside complications I ballooned up to 236 pounds. Ever hear from fat chicks who blame it on hormones? Well, I believe them now! Leave it to me to get the only type of cancer that makes you fat!! My husband had decided he had enough of me being sick and we also split while I was still in treatment. Then the other half of my thyroid went bad later on and I had to remove it all. More radiation, blah, blah, blah. Then my knee decided to say 'fuck off' and collapsed on me and I was in a wheelchair for some time until I could get a total knee replacement, which I did last September. The pain I lived with was incredible. Every aspect of my life was ruled by pain. And when you hurt, you can't walk, you can't exercise and when you sit and eat with no metabolism, you gain weight. Everything about my life was not MY life as it had been before.

So...its 2010 and I turn 40 in a few months. It took 5 full fucking years to get my shit straight, kick cancer's ass, divorce some dead weight, get a new leg and FINALLY lose all the damn weight. I weigh less now than when I last saw R&F at the Bob Saget Unmasked. With my new leg I live almost entirely pain free and weeks after the surgery I got to do something amazing....a mild hike. 3 miles, half uphill but damn did it feel freeing!!

Throughout it all I NEVER stopped listening. I hung in there with The Hideout long distance online until they vanished into the ether. For 8 or more hours a day the ONLY thing I had to pull me through were the guys on 202. So while no one knew what was going on in my life, I'm still completely caught up on the goings-on in the R&F world. Funny how that is...

So...I'm around. I'd love to be involved on the boards and stuff until the time comes that my job pulls me away. But until then, I'm here. And its nice to be around to enjoy it all.:clap:

Referring to the best of segment, beating up 9 year old's I have to agree with Abes because I remember listening to that years ago and it was the funniest shit I had heard until then. Who the fuck would even talk about a subject like that on radio.

I started listening when the Ron and Fez show came on 92.3 FreeFM, have never stopped since then.

I'm "Jay from Maine" I'm not a cat loving homo, but I play one on the Twitter and the Tumblr. I'm a Gun-lovin' Cigar smokin' Rightwinger, but I'm not looking to shove it down anyone's throat, I have an even mix of politically minded friends in real life and on the net. Never had a problem hangin' out with Lefties, and rarely, if ever, even bother to engage them. For the same reason I don't sit around pulling the wings off of house-flies.

As for Obama: I have a respect for the Office of the President, that trumps the urge to sit around and take potshots at the guy all day long. I just vote, and keep my discourse civil -no need to get preachy about it.

My Twitter and my XBL are the same, as listed in my about me. I'm pushing 50, have worked in I.T. since the early 80's designing and installing drilling rig instrumentation. The 1st 30 years of my life were constant travel between being an Army brat and the Oilfield. Texas Oklahoma, off-shore and a stint in the ATL.These days I'm semi-retired in Maine. -I listened to O@A back in the AAF days.

My favorite terrestrial show is Howie Carr out of Boston. I've had Satellite radio for a dogs age, but until about a year ago I listened to Shade45 BECAUSE I FUCKING HATE COMMERCIALS MORE THAN RAP. I really didn't become a regular to R&F until Ipad came out, and I started listening to that shitty stream.

The reason I joined this board was because I was fucking annoyed by all the noise the studio mics were picking up. The constant fucking scraping sounds, every chair noise, it drove me fucking nuts. I thought: How in the FUCK does this not get bitched about constantly? I signed up for the forum, bitched about it. And then I STFU about it and rolled with the show. I'm mentally tough like that. The Mic noise is still there, some days it's worse than others, I heard a tech say that it was because people were touching the Mic Stand. I find that shit hard to believe. I can't believe it hasn't been fixed.

Some thoughts about the show R&F show:

The silly drama Fez brings to the table, Love it.
Ron is a fantastic interviewer.

Fez, is it an act, a character, a bit? I don't wanna know. -If I found out either way it would ruin the whole fucking thing for me. Of course I know it's real, but I like to at least entertain the notion that it's a clever bit.

I been listening to Fez since his 1st gig on GTA and my icon is a pic of Luis in front of "The Flaming Fez".

I love the way Ron takes all bad calls, and gives them -one- chance to be a good call.
If the call is worth half a shit, Ron will milk it and let the caller have his say until it's done. Ron -never keeps a caller on the line for to little or too long.

Ron: Ah Caller, Dave from Idaho, what's up budday?

Caller: Hey what's goin' on Ron?"

Ron: "None of your fucking business."

Caller: "I wanted to talk about that show The X Fact..."
