One of the last songs that Johnny Cash ever recorded is called God's Gonna Cut You Down.  The hook to that song is this:Go tell that long tongue liar Go and tell that midnight rider Tell the rambler, The gambler, The back biter Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down Tell 'em that God's gonna cut 'em down Who could it be?

you know with the midnight rider, that song has been going through my head lately.  Maybe Earl should play it on the show, but I guess not since it is not at least 20 years old...

I know Johnny Cash is dead, so he can't be in any of his videos anymore, but couldn't they come up with an idea that didn't involve Kid Rock, Justin Timberlake, Chris Martin and Travis Barker?  Weak

This is my new favorite song...and yes it is very prophetic... and yes, it is in reference to the entire show, not just MR.  Let's analyze the lyrics and see what they tell us... "You can run on for a long time..."  This is obviously a reference to the fact the show is on 6 hours a day.  So given this addition of running for a long time is NOW and RECENT, we can only assume the song is referring to right now in RNF time. "Sooner or later gonna cut you down" The end of the show is in the future, we feel gloom and doom... Given the latest problems with Earl, Lily, Jivin, and the rest of the characters, one senses this will be what causes God to cut "them" down."Tell that long tongue liar" This is Earl very clearly."Tell that midnight rider"  This is MR, of course, and since he is a recent addition to the show, once again, we know that Johnny is singing about the show in the present."Tell the rambler"  This is ESD (from the night show).  He rambles..."the gambler & back biter"  Ronnie and Fezzie of course."tell that god is gonna cut em down"  Bad things a coming. "My heads been wet with the midnight dew."  I had to dig to understand this one, but now that I did, I have it figured out...  Lily is the name of a flower, a flower collects dew at night, Lily is the one whose perspective the song is using...  She lays awake at night imagining the death of the entire Ron & Fez show.  Lily is the one who is going to cut down RNF show." Talkin to the man from Galiee. He spoke to me in a voice so sweet, I thought I heard the shuffle of angels feet." Ok this part once again, we see it's Lily telling the story.  Angels feet?  Halloween party?  Angel wings?  Earl introducing her as his "angel"?  And she is definitely talking to god/jesus and getting instructions from him about this." He called my name and my heart stood still, When He said "John go do my will"  Holy shit they are all in trouble, MikeyD warn them!" You can throw your rock, hide your hand," Ronnie & Fez & Dave going after Lily on Thur show.  Especially Ronnie playing good cop / bad cop."Workin in the dark against your fellow man." Dave/Earl working against each other."But as sure as God made black and white,"Earl = black and undatable, that's the reason why she can't date him. "What's done in the dark, " Will be brought to the light."This part is a little confusing, it alludes to something done that no one else knows about.  Possibly Jivin & Lily's breakup. Obviously we aren't supposed to know what has been done yet, but we will.
