I was at both Big Ass N.O.F.'s I and II, in Strong Island and Moonachie.  At the first one my friends and I were Al's Pals, which was just a stupid way of getting noticed (attention whores), Ronnie B deservingly ripped us a new A-Hole by asking Al out loud , "How much did you pay those homo's to bring that sign Dukesie?"  And at Big Ass II I went with my wifey, we were one of the 1st ones in the joint and got a spot 1st row ringside.  The fights were great and I was up to my eyeballs in Gallagher Girls (ring card girls, or Wing curd grr's as Lenay would say) ta-ta's!   Coolest wife ever let me smack those puppies around like speedbags right in fronnt of her..lol  I GOTTA GET INTO THIS ONE!  When we will know if we got the tix?

I have class on Friday evenings which doesn't let out to 9:15.. 9:00 if Mr. Professor is in a good mood so obviously I'd miss the event but my question is how long does everyone plan on hanging out? I wouldn't be able to get into the city till ohh i dunno 10:30ish the earliest. Would I still need a ticket at that point? Is it even worth it for me to make the trek?

I think it's fucked up that the people who get to go to these events are a majority of message board people  I'm a HUGE R&F fan who doesn't participate with the message boards as often as others do, and any time I post - other members ALWAYS say how "anyone should go to the parties"- but every time it's always the same shit-- Kinda pisses me off- because I feel that i am a part of the show and do listen every day/night-- and the "elite" get to go- which is fucked up

I got an email confirmation!  w00t! I'm driving up from Delaware with a friend.  I'll probably get a motel room incase I drink too much celebrating <strike>Andy Kaufman's</strike> East Side Dave's victory over <strike>Tony Clifton</strike> The Midnight Rider.  I'm trying to find a cheap place somewhere that I can take a cab in to see the show.  Anyone have any advice?If someone tries to stop me from going through that door, it better be Master Po, cause I'm gonna start throwin'.

Every time I got a room for me and A listener to be named later, I used priceline and got them everytimre for $75 a night.  Some weren't right in midtown but one was right on w.61st. Now if only I didn't get ch&%$#$ Par*&87 each time for another guy, I would let you know how the beds were, they were great for drinking away your sorrows until the light came thru the windows and all fucked up went home with people just going to work buying coffee and bagels and I'm looking for a drink....ahhhh memories so it isn't Pricelines fault, they did the deed, I didn't Staples oh...that was when you named your own price and I put in $75...does Priceline still do that?

Im thinking about booking a room, but the man is still on the fence about coming with me, so I am not sure what I am going to do.  I know they are probably closed now, but a while back we stayed at the Marcel Hotel, and it was a nightmare from the moment we walked through the doors, they lost our reservations, the room wasnt ready, they didnt give us a wake up call the next morning, we had to call down for an iron, the staff was nasty as hell, the room was so noisy, you could hear everything in and out of the hotel. There was other shit too,  We booked through expedia, and they didnt even care when we complained.  So now I have this issue with NYC hotels, and am afraid to stay at any hotel in the city because of it.

Also, the distance from avenue to avenue is much longer than the distance from street to street.  Street blocks are smaller.  I don't know if that would help in your decision making.  For example, being 10 street blocks away is not far at all.  If you were 4 avenue blocks away, it would be a hike.

This message was edited by docgoblin on 2-17-07 @ 7:17 PM it gets tricky right there.  b'way and 7th criss-cross between 45th and 43rd and technically both sides become b'way over that stretch.  if you're not careful, you'll be walking on b'way and then look up 5 blocks later and you're on 7th.  if you can get a good rate, it's across the street from the marriot marquis.  the paramount hotel and hotel edison are one block further, at 46th between b'way and 8th.  the edison cafe in the hotel edison is a nice old-school diner and they have incredible motzah ball soup.

Using the entertainment book, I just pulled The Pod hotel at 139. According to some priceline bidding forums, someone pulled the Grand Hyatt via Priceline for 125 for those dates. At the same forum, the Barclay on Priceline was also picked up for 135. It doesn't hurt to throw in a four star hotel in Midtown East (MTE) and (MTW) and give a bid of 140 and see what happens.  As we get closer, if they aren't full, they'll take the business.

On the other hand, some of the rooms look great, which leads you to believe the hotel itself is not a complete dump. For one night I can't see it being a huge problem. If I were staying a week I would probably go with the superior room... Or a different hotel.

Yea i'll second the edison.  clean and nothing fancy but a kick ass coffee shop in the lobby with the greatest homemade soups, usually 6 or 7 to choose from each day.

Long Island Iced Teas FTW.I love drinking those if I feel like getting buzzed fast. But it's very important you have a bartender who knows how to make a good mixed drink because it alternates between bitterly sweet alcohol and engine oil flavor depending on the maker.

Anyone know how the Hard Rock shows are set up?I assume there will be a broadcast area, and Ronnie said they are setting up the Ring, but will there be tables, or is everything standing room?I know there are pre-parties, etc, but it seems that you need to count on being at the hard rock from 4:30 (at least) till 10 so food will be a necessity. (yeah,  i know, over priced burgers, but its still food)

If we get there early  - like before 3pm - can we eat THERE?  I know my friend and I want to go early and get food - but it makes more sense to just go to the Hard Rock and partake in supper there before the festivities start... that way no scrambling about trying to be on time.I have taken a half day and plan to leave my place by 2pm so I should be in the neighborhood by that time.  If anyone wants to meet up, just PM me!  Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

my guess is that the line to go downstairs to the venue will be on teh side of the building. if you go inside, the venue/stage area will probably be roped off and the resturaunt side will be open. That is what they did with teh Mets Caravan last year

they don't offer food in that part of the hardrock?   in the old place we used to just be able to order off the menu at a table during the show.  i didn't go to the halloween party so i don't really know what the new place is like.

The best Long Island Ice Teas are in Denville NJ.  Me freind and i have been going there for a long time every Thursday night.  The bar tender makes the great.  I have not had a stronger or better tasing one anyhere ( and I have tried).   The best we can do is about two before things get fuzzy.  My personal best was four on a very bad work day.  Still cannot remember most of what happended.Let's see how the HRC does on them. I said i will get one for MONICA5579 her Male escort.  BRING THEM ON!! See you all soon.  Looking forward to a great night...

Just got back. The boys did a hilarious show, as usual. ESD has never been funnier. Bobo's "Pope Bobo baby" went over real good, as I hoped it would. Brother Joe did the "Black Earl" song and the crowd was singing along with him. Love that song. Fez did his long rumored "Makes me Fez" song. Right now Paul-o is walking around with "bulldogcakes" on his right arm, so I feel like I contributed in my own little way. I finally met Sheepy, Reef, Angel Amy and Just Jon. I saw a bunch of other peeps I recognized from thread pix but the place was too jammed to say hello. I also finally met Pixie, and if you think her avatar's cute, you should see her in person. In the avatar she's a cutie, in person she's a knockout.All in all a good time, and thanks to the folks who put it together. Cant wait for the next one.

This was my first RnF event and I couldnt believe how great it was. Anthony singing, Brother Joe singing, FEZ singing, The magic trick with Fez. I can go on and on and on. So many cool people at the show. The staff at hard Rock were very cool, no dick bag security assholes.

Very cool night from start to finish. Everything seemed to go off perfectly. Watching Dave take the bumps in the ring was entertaining as hell. The staff was great and there was still breathing room in the place. Can't imagine anyone not having a blast.

What a fucking blast.  This was such a great event, and it was fantastic to meet some old and new friends as well.  I can die a happy man having finally met Fallon in person, and Mooch was the topper.  What a crazy bastard.   I love that guy!  The highlight of the evening, though, was seeing the "big shot" mods and admins standing on line outside in the freezing cold and wind.  About time those high and mighty pricks know what it feels like to be a commoner!

Had a damn good time there. It was actually worth the pain of freezing my ass off. The whole night was a highlight, as I got to meet for the first time in person Ron, Fez, Dave, Gvac, Sheepy, Effme, Friday, Stugots, Reilly, Pointer, Radioshark, Moe, Doogie, JerseyRitch and so on throughout the night. Some random German guy too at the bar in the Hard Rock, where I decided to have a burger for dinner. Those europeans are talkative. Zildjian, it was fun freezing my ass off with you and then laughing about it later! Hope to see ya at more events sir. Fun times. Damn fun times.I got scared a few times like Ando claimed she did at Sheepy's bday bash. Don't know you people very well after all :| Btw, Ando+Alice were missed!

It was great to see fezzie do his song and all that other jazz. It's been a long, fun night and now it's time for pixie to catch some much needed ZZZs.

I have to say this was one of the best RF events I've been to in a long time......maybe even the BEST. I didnt have to stand in line, got right in at 7:30. Bobo's number was perfect, loved it. ESD brought the house down. Fez's singing was another big highlight. Mikeyboy deserves a lot of credit for making sure people got in and for how smooth the whole night went, big props to you my friend.It was so good to finally meet Reilly!!!!! Girl you are the best and so adorable! It was so great to meet CofyCrackCocaine mainly because he's a nice guy but more importanlt, because I love the name..lol. Also nice to meet Fallon after all these years too! Oh and I got to meet Mooch!!!
