I just finished watching fight club again and was wondering if i could get a consencious on what movie has an ending that not only raps up the story but expands on your knowledge of the story.Truely makes the movie a pice of artIm nominating:Fight ClubSevenCitizen cane Lets hear em people!

Ok, this one is a little know movie from the early 80's called "Last American Virgin".  The movie is basically about a dorky kid who falls in love with this hot chick, who likes and bangs his buddy.  After his douchey buddy impregnates and dumps the girl, the dork steps in and helps her with everything.  They kinda start dating and then go to a party together, when the dork walks in the kitchen, his buddy is making out with the chick again!  The dork runs away from the party to his car and statrs driving down the street as tears fall from his stupid eyes.  The CREDITS THEN BEGIN TO ROLL!  Your sittin there goin...WHAT THE F???  Thats how it ends?  But the more I thought about it, I think it was one of the coolest endings ever!  It left me wanting to punch a hole in the TV screen.   Good low budget 80's flick!<table border="0"><tbody><tr valign="top"><td><a name="poster" href="http://www.ronfez.net/messageboard/replytotopic.cfm/Forum/52/Topic/56830/currentpage/posters" title="The Last American Virgin"><img src="http://ia.ec.imdb.com/media/imdb/01/I/84/82/43m.jpg" border="0" alt="The Last American Virgin" title="The Last American Virgin" width="98" height="140" /></a></td></tr></tbody></table>

i remember people walking out of the theatre from Rocky and they were all mumbling, "he lost?"  at thr time it was a great suprise ending.i also remember people talking about how great the ending of Alien was too (for its time.) i like the end of natural born killers (driving off in a motorome with kids and a bong,classic)

My favorite all-time endings would be After Hours, Annie Hall and McCabe & Mrs. Miller.As for recent film endings, I enjoyed "Shaun of the Dead."The "lengthiest" ending would have to be Boogie Nights. I know he was the leading man, but Marky Mark had a very big part.

I was gonna pick Night of Living Dead, but it was already mentioned. I thought American Psycho had a good ending, that sort of leaves you confused.Lord of War had a great ending too. Nick Cage gets caught and then released because he helps supply our allies.

Definitely have to echo 2001 - Who could've said they saw giant space baby coming? (well, besides the people who read the book. There are others I'd echo too. Here are some others that I thought of:  I love the ending of Magnolia. When John C. Reilly goes back to talk to Melora Walters and you can't hear what he's saying at all. Then in the last shot you see her flash that quick smile and it just ends there. The face in the bathroom is where he thinks his face is messed up again after the surgery. I think it is when he first thinks Penelope Cruz is Cameron Diaz. Great scene and the first mindscrew of the movie.

Of course the studio wanted him to actually do something - anything. So Buscemi lied to them through the whole filming of the movie saying he'll shoot the ending they want, he'll shoot it! Then he just didn't shoot it and they were stuck with the ending Buscemi wanted. IT'S AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL PICTURE! How do you tell a guy how to finish his own story? One of the best endings ever.

Dawn of the Dead had a great ending too. What's better than a bunch of zombies walkin around the mall eating the remains of a biker gang while cheesy mall music is playing.
